Sleep MD

Surely you've seen the commercials for this.

So I finally decided to try it. Non habit forming. That was what hooked me.

OH.MY.GOD.

Of course, experience has taught me that sleeping pills (or whatever) don't work as advertised on me. If they do, they only work for a couple of days. So I usually buy the generic brands of sleeping medication. I just check the active ingredients to make sure that they aren't the same so that I can switch up weeks using them.

Anyway, I really didn't expect this to work. But just in case it did, I decided to wait until 11:30 to try it out.

....

It promises a full night of sleep , that you will fall asleep faster & that you will wake up feeling refreshed.

I think it was about 1:30 before I started falling asleep. Notice I say "started." Because I think I woke up every other hour after that.

Then at 6:30 I wake up with Evan holding the alarm clock right by my ear.

Little conehead, LOL.

Anyway, after he left I got up & brushed my teeth.

I don't know what I did all night, but my back was KILLING me. So I decided to lay on the heating pad & watch the crap I taped last night.

I kept falling asleep.

I'd wake up long enough to turn the heating pad off & back on (it goes off after 30 minutes) and then ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

I had already set the DVR to record "The View" because Jeff Foxworthy was on. But at 9:50 I decided to put it on ABC anyway.

Um...

I heard bits & pieces of the "Hot Topics"

Whoopi - White people...wait...yeah, white folks have to be careful how they say things because if you say the something about a white man, it will not be perceived the same way as if you say it about a black person. Black people hear Whatshername ( don't remember) saying that Obama is lucky" and we hear "He'd better consider himself lucky. He should be kissing my ass."

Next I hear - Are you the one with the cold butt?

And I'm thinking "How the hell does the racism have anything to do with the temperature of one's butt??? Do white people thing black people have cold butts or something? WTF!?!?"

Then I hear Babwa Wawa asking Kim Kardashian about her sex tape.

I was very confused.

My back finally felt better & I was tired of falling asleep so I sat up and watched "The View" again.

Apparently, one of Hillary Clinton's campaign people said that Obama is lucky, or something, and it was perceived as racist by people other than Obama so she had to quit & Hillary had to say that she did not agree with the woman at all. (Am I the only one who gets confused about Barack Obama's name? I always call him Obama, but then I remember that it's his last name so I should refer to Mrs. Clinton by her last name too. 1) To be respectful & 2) I don't know either of these people personally.)

Wow. This Sleep MD is like the first day I took xanax. It's apparently all natural, but it's got me effed up in the head like I've had 4 shots of tequila...

Anyway, can we get over this please?

This "Be careful not to say anything that could be offensive to blacks or women."

I hate this PC crap!!!!!

Look, Clinton & Obama have been around for several decades each. They have seen political campaigns before. They've been IN them before, so they know what the fuck to expect. Can we just stop tip toeing around the whole minority thing and talk about the FACTS???

The press has been really easy on Obama. I don't know if it's because they don't want to be perceived as racist or because they just hate Clinton.

No one can name anything that Obama has really done in the senate. He's kind of young to run the WHOLE EFFING COUNTRY.

That's just my opinion, though.

I'm 35. Technically, I could run for president. But I don't think 35 year olds should be running for president. There is something to be said for life experience. That comes with age.

Obama will not be the youngest president we've ever had, but he's pretty close.

I don't know. I admit to having a prejudice against youth.

When I was 13, I had a crush on a 33 year old man.

When I turned 25 (or so), I started liking 45 year old men. 35 was too close to my age.

As I've gotten older, I've realized that it's true what they say about men. They never really mature. They get to 18 & no matter what else they do in life, the hormone crazed BOY is still there under the surface.

Maybe I'm just fooled by the gray hair & wrinkles?

I don't even know what the hell I'm saying.

Bye.

LMAO!

Fight! Fight!

Not literally.

But anyway, first the backstory.

My "Bug Man" comes on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. He goes to Mommy Dearest's house every other month or something. Every time he comes to my house, he says "Tell your Mom I said 'Hi'"

I always forget.

Until last month. That's when she told me that she got really "upset" and was practically yelling at the poor boy. It was close to Super Tuesday when he went to her house. She asked him if he voted. He said "No." So she gave him a lecture about young people not voting & how it makes her sick. (He's about 25). So then he said he was just going to wait until November but he wasn't voting for Obama if he got the nomination because "Obama is a Muslim".

MD went OFF! Telling him that Obama is NOT a muslim, his father was & that it's so stupid that people hear something about a candidate and believe it without investigating, etc, etc.

So today is the 2nd Wednesday in March. Bug Man day.

The "Fighters"
Bug Man - BG
Landlord - LL
Neighbor Lady who also works for the LL & jumped my car that time I left the light on all night (She's nice) - NL

BG - Oh, you're out of bed today! (I usually leave the door unlocked when it's BG Day so that I don't have to get up.)
Me - I was on my way to take a shower when you knocked. I'm glad you got here now.
NL - How are you feeling?
Me - Pretty good!
Me - *To BG* I heard you had an interesting conversation with my mother the last time you were over there.
BG - *looking embarassed* Uh...yeah. Man, she was PISSED!
Me - LOL. She said she didn't mean to get that "fired up" when she talked to you.
BG - I'm afraid to go over there again!
Me - Oh, she'll probably forget all about it by the next time you see her.
BG - I don't think so! I'll never talk about politics with her again!

So he goes on to spray the house.

NL - I hope Obama wins! I think he's going to.
LL - I don't want him to win! He's a Muslim.
NL - HE IS NOT A MUSLIM HIS DADDY WAS!
Me - That's what he *pointing towards BG* said to piss my mother off.
LL - Naw, he's a Muslim!
NL - He AIN'T A MUSLIM! Hilary Clinton just put that out there trying to get back to controlling the country like she did when Bill was president.
LL - I don't care what you say, I ain't votin' for no muslim!
NL - HE IS NOT A MUSLIM and I AIN'T HAVIN' THIS ARGUMENT WITH YOU BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN VOTE!!

By that time the Bug Guy (poor boy) was done.

LMFAO!

Every time NL comes over here for whatever, LL follows her. She rolls her eyes & says "Here HE comes again. He drives me up the friggin wall!"

They always argue. You'd think they were married, LOL.

But I enjoyed it. :-)

Pucca

I don't normally like cartoons, but every once in a while I find one I like.

Pucca is one of the shows Evan got me hooked on. He was always talking about Garu & Abyo (the Bruce Lee look alike) so finally, I agreed to watch it one day.

I fell in love with it. Now I record it for ME. Screw Evan, LOL. I don't care if he gets to see the new episodes before I delete them, LOL.

Pucca is a little Japanese girl that is in love with Garu, a little ninja boy. He acts like he can't stand her. He's always running away from her or hiding. But she always gets him in the end and gives him a kiss.

She lives in a little village with 3 fathers. One is black, one looks Italian, and I don't remember what the other father looks like right this second.

Anyway, Santa is in every episode.

The Police Chief is Abyo's father & after everything he says, he says "Over."

Abyo rips his shirt in half in every episode.

And Pucca kicks ass every episode. (Maybe that's why I like it? Girl power!)

It's a really cute show. I don't remember what network, but I know it's Jetix (The same station as Power Freaking Rangers.) I looked it up. It's on Toon Disney. Go HERE to see info about the show.

I love the theme song. I know all the words. I watch it every time instead of zapping through it (unlike most shows I watch).

If you have kids (or if you're a big kid yourself) check it out. :-)

Cat Fight

I must admit, I'm in an odd mood today. I watched the whole thing. Really interested in the outcome...

I won't spoil it for you.

Laziness has its benefits!

First, I slept all night last night. I drank a Smirnoff Ice & took my AD at about 8.

(If you're reading this, I DO NOT RECOMMEND OR ENDORSE MIXING ALCOHOL AND DRUGS!. MS has made my body's reaction to drugs and alcohol crazy, though. Aspirin sometimes makes me sleepy, as does caffeine. But then allergy pills that are supposed to cause drowsiness wake me up.)

Anyway, at around noon I got sleepy again.

So I got in bed & started trying to watch "CIA Secrets" (or something, I recorded it on the National Geographic channel).

Next thing I know, I hear keys.

So I looked over at the computer & saw Evan. (He's been banned from the computer ever since I got his progress report)

I said "Boy, you'd better not be on that computer!"

No response.

Me - "BOY!!!"

So I opened my eyes.

Yes, I had been dreaming. It was like 1:10 pm.

So then I started re-watching the CIA thing because it had ended.

Then I start hearing stomping. Evan always comes down the stairs like a herd of bison or something.

Me - WHY are you making so much noise? WHY do you always have to stomp down the stairs?

No response.

Me - Evan?

I opened my eyes.

Another dream.

Whatever. I finally decided that the CIA thing was putting me to sleep.

I forget what I watched then, but I started thinking about doing the damned laundry.

Every week I tell the boy to make sure he has at least 5 shirts & 5 pairs of pants to be washed (in addition to socks & underwear). But every week, he manages to run out of shirts or pants??? (This is also disregarding all the extra clothes I've bought him because I'm too lazy to do the laundry sometimes...all the time. Shut up.)

The washer is not eating the shirts. I don't know WTF is up. All I know is that he has about 4 pairs of clean pants & no shirts appropriate for school. (They have stains or holes or I just don't like the shirt & won't let him wear it in public.)

So I'm thinking about having to do the effing laundry on a freaking Tuesday.

----------------
Now playing: Human League - I'm Only Human
via FoxyTunes

He finally gets home (about an hour after my last dream of him being home already) and says he wants to go somewhere.

Me - Well, we have to go to the laundromat.
E - I don't want to do that!
Me - ME EITHER! But you said you don't have any clean shirts.
E - Well I found one. It was still in the basket. (Nevermind that I always tell him to HANG UP HIS CLOTHES WHEN WE GET HOME FROM DOING THE LAUNDRY.)
Me - Well then call your Nana and ask her if she'll take you somewhere because I am not going anywhere.

So he did.

MD - Well where do you want to go?
E - I don't care. I just don't want to be here.
MD - Your mommy will let you go somewhere with me on a school night?
E - I guess.
Me - I don't care.
E - She said she doesn't care.
MD - Well, I'll bring you to my house.
E - OK!
MD - I'll be there in a minute.

So I said "Hey! Get 5 pairs of pants & 5 shirts and ask Nana if she'll wash them since you're going to be over there anyway & then we don't have to do the laundry.

E - She's going to say we called her just to use her again.
Me - Whatever. She doesn't have to do it. But it doesn't hurt to ask.

I play Bejeweled while I wait for the 50 pages that I open at a time to load. (I have found some great blogs for this week's High Five Friday). I finally scored over 1,000,000 on the timed version of Bejeweled. I'm addicted to that game.

And I'm happy!

Really happy.

I've been commenting my bootie off today. (I wish typing burned more calories, because then I really would have typed some of my bootie off today.)

Pop Fiction

So I was just about to watch "The View" (Yes, I watch that sometimes. Tori Spelling was on today. I think she & her husband are a cute couple. Baby Liam is adorable!) and I noticed a show called "Pop Fiction" was about to come on E!

So I recorded it.

The premise is that celebs are tired of all of the bogus stories that are printed in tabloids & on celebrity websites so they do things just to see what lies will be made up.

First story was Paris Hilton. She was put with this dude (I can't remember what he said his actual 'occupation' was. Hiker or something.) who looked like a Swami. Or whatever.

All they did was drive around & stop at places. She bought a religious book & predicted that the stories would say that she's converting to the new religion. The Paparazzi instantly started calling the dude her Guru. They bought fake diamonds & Paris gave one to some woman and told her that the "Guru" had told her to give it away because "The greatest gift is giving."

That is ALL she said in public.

But I'm sure YOU remember hearing all the news stories about Paris Hilton's Guru.

The next story was Avril Lavigne's "baby bump".

She said every other month some tabloid is saying that she's preggers. So she put on some shirt that made her look like she was pregnant & went to a store that sells baby things.

She did not say anything in public.

By the end of the day, her "baby bump" photos were on the web. The mainstream media picked up the story.

I must say that I LOVE THIS PREMISE!

I don't pay much attention to celebrity news. I do, occasionally, hear some stupid crap that is unbelievable. (Like Paris Hilton starting a foundation to save Drunk Elephants.) But it is nice to know that she & other celebs are finally having some fun at the expense of the media.

I can't believe the shit they have to go through.

Can you imagine if you were just going to Wal-mart & 50 people jumped out of their cars to get your picture & shouting your name & asking what you bought? Every time you stepped out of your house???

The dude with Paris said "If I had to go through this every day, I'd be one of those people who punched the photographers. This is crazy."

It certainly shows a different perspective to this tabloid society in which we live.

The tag line of the show is "Next time you read a tabloid, ask yourself 'Is this real? Or is this Pop Fiction?'"

Check it out.

I'll be watching from now on. :-)

Heads orTails - 3/11/08

This week's theme is Green. YAY! I finally had a photo I'd taken that was appropriate. :-)

Join in the fun at Skittles' Place.

Awww :-(

Snapvine has a Family Guy Blue Harvest skin.

But it's not the blog sized widget.

That SUCKS!

I wonder what happens if I mess with the code?

Bleh! They might try to sue me anyway. Or delete my account for messing with the code.

Not that anyone leaves me messages anymore...*hint hint*

Well Poop!

*Sigh*

Last night I took a xanax at 10 pm. I fell asleep at approximately 5 am. So already it's not working for me. Then, of course, I had to wake up at 6 to make sure The Boy got off to school ok.

I kind of dozed.

He gets up at 5:45 so that he can watch the shows he likes that he can't watch at night anymore since he has to go to bed at 8 PM due to his slacking in school.

YESTERDAY MORNING I told him to separate the laundry.

----------------
Now playing: Prince - Feel U Up
via FoxyTunes

AND wash the dishes. AND take out the garbage. After he went to bed, I noticed that he had only separated some of the laundry & washed some of the dishes & had only tied up the garbage bag. He does this because depending on the day, I will WAKE HIM THE FUCK UP to finish doing what I told him to do at 10 am that he had all day to do.

So I hid the remote for the TV (because he is allergic to manually changing the channel or watching a recorded program)

----------------
Now playing: Prince & The Revolution - Kiss
via FoxyTunes

And I wrote him a note that said "DO NOT TURN ON THE TV until you have washed the dishes, taken out the trash & separated the laundry."

So I never heard the TV.

I never heard anything until he opened the front door.

I said, through the haze of sleep, "Bye, baby."
He said "I'm not leaving now, but bye anyway."

I thought he was taking out the trash.

Then I heard the bus.

So I looked at the clock.

7:08 am.

I'm thinking "Damn, he waited until the last minute to take out the trash & now it's probably out there on the porch where some frigging animal will get into it and spread it all over OR he's forgotten his bookbag OR he missed the bus."

So I reluctantly opened my eyes.

Garbage still in the kitchen.

Dishes still in the sink.

Went upstairs

----------------

Clothes still all over the place.

So now I'm pissed.

This is why I will have to beat him.

Not really.

But only because I can't catch him anymore.

----------------

Anyway.

Remember when I talked about watching the Lunar Eclipse and how some cat got in the house?

Well now, every time Evan opens the front door, the cat is right there. Tries to get in the house. He pushes her away. She thinks it's a game. She rolls onto her back.

Now he wants a cat.

I'm allergic to cats.

And WHY THE HELL WOULD I GET HIM A PET WHEN HE WON'T CLEAN UP AFTER HIS OWN GEEDEE SELF?

----------------
Now playing: Prince - Hello
via FoxyTunes

I still remember when I got him the damned hamster & I was the one cleaning out that cage. Not him. He barely even played with the thing. I got Alex (the hamster) one of those rolling balls so that he could run all around the house. I played with the hamster. Evan was afraid to touch him. (I think Evan was 7 or something) but he sure cried like he'd lost his best friend when the nocturnal fucker who disturbed my sleep so much (back when I could sleep) finally died.

WhatEVA.

Every time I try to type Ever, I type Every. IN THIS POST, when I tried to type Every, I typed Ever.

All day I've been making typos.

Ees peeseen me off!

And I don't remember what I had originally been going to blog about...

*Sigh*

I reckon I'll go wash the damned dishes & mop the kitchen floor and try to think of an appropriate psychological punishment torture for THE DAMNED BOY.

OMG. Did you watch "Everybody hates Chris" last night?

----------------
Now playing: Prince & The New Power Generation - Diamonds And Pearls
via FoxyTunes

It was SOOOOOO FUNNY when he accidentally yelled at his Mother and then the next scene showed him in the hospital & he had an x-ray which showed her pump up his butt.

HA!

When I see stuff like that, I really wonder if white people "Get it".

I believe EVERY black child in the world has accidentally said something smart or raised their voice to their mother & gotten that same look on her face. That "Have you lost your mind?!? Who the fuck do you think you're talking to!??!" look. And that same black child has had that "Oh shit! Now I'm about to die" expression on their face the second after they said whatever it was.

HA! I think I rewound that about 20 times just to see Chris' face right after he realized what he'd done, LOL.

Once I had a dream that I called Mommy Dearest a bitch. But it was sooooo realistic that I really didn't know if it had actually happened. I assume it didn't, beause I'm still alive & have all of my limbs. But of course I can't ask her. Right now she just thinks I think she's an Evil Bitch from Hell & that I hate her. But it's never been confirmed.

----------------
Now playing: Prince - Starfish And Coffee
via FoxyTunes

It's how we can continue to have this superficial relationship for Evan's sake.

Because once you SAY the words, you can't take them back. And SHE is not mature/self aware enough to accept how I really feel about her and keep on going for someone else's benefit.

----------------
Now playing: Prince & The Revolution - Life Can Be So Nicevia FoxyTunes

So we pretend to get along.

And I have to go wash the dishes before the water gets cold.

But I bet I'll be back later.

With some other random shit.

Because I got no sleep.

And if I nap, this whole vicious cycle of 2 hours of sleep a night will start all over again.

So.

I'm taking a break from the xanax. And I'm going to start taking my Anti depressant at night since it always makes me sleepy.

So I'll need to do something to stay awake all effing day.

TTYL!

Show some love to CardioGirl!

I read her post today.

I've blogged, occasionally, about my depression. It's one of the joyous symptoms/side effects of Multiple Sclerosis.

But I don't think that anyone who hasn't been depressed can really understand what it's like.

I tried to explain it to Mommy Dearest (She's so blessed that she's NEVER experienced it) once by saying "It's the lack of hope that's the worst. Like if I won 50 million dollars in the lottery & met Prince & got personal guitar lessons & had mind blowing sex, I'd still want to die. It's as if NOTHING will ever make me happy again. That's what it feels like."

CardioGirl is feeling "Worn Out" right now.

So just stop by her blog and show her some love, please.

Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference!

Alexandra tagged me!

*UPDATE* this is the 3rd time I've edited the title of this post. Alexandra tagged me, but in my sidebar I call her Anastasia. I always remembered that because it has something to do with a Prince song. I'm losing my mind!!! Read the comments, LOL.*

It's her first meme. So I'm cooperating. Because I don't think she knows how much I hate being tagged.

Even though she spelled my name Angelica.

But I think Beckii might have told her to do that, because she spells it right in her sidebar...

Entyway

5 random things about me:
1. All day today I've been cracking the eff up because I was sitting here earlier & told Evan to be quiet (or something) and he got up really fast and started running over here like he was going to do something to me. Next thing I know, he's flat on the floor because he tripped over something he left on the floor.

I had to hold my breath, because I didn't know if he was hurt.

Then he said "Well, that was funny." & I started cracking up!

OMG. My eyes are tearing up. Every few minutes I think about it and just start laughing really hard and he's like "DON'T THINK ABOUT ME FALLING!"

Ha! He cracks me up. That wasn't really about me, but I just had to tell it.

Monday's a Bitch

1. Have you ever partaken in a dare? What did it entail? No, I don't do dares. I think the people daring you are wimpy/scared/stupid &/or trying to get you into a bad situation.

2. Do you live with anyone who has any particularly annoying living habits?(eg. leaves toilet seat up,forgets to give messages)
Uh, yeah! My man child. He has all sorts of irritating habits that I have to try to nag out of him.

3. Who's your favorite advertising mascot? (eg. Tony the Tiger,The Michelin Man) Um...I don't think so. I like the car insurance caveman commercials & I like the Sonic Brian & wife commercials, but they aren't really mascots.

4. If you were a high school stereotype, you'd be the...? I was a lot of the stereotypes. Brainiac, Band Geek, Math Club Nerd, Drama Club Person, Popular Bitch (But people mistook my bitchiness for humor), blah. I had friends among all the groups. Even the sluts & druggies....

Books, Music & DVDs.

If you could retire tomorrow what would you do? I'm already retired. I blog.

Should anything be censored and if so, what and why? YES! Lots of things. I think we need more stringent controls of websites. I don't think freaks like the 2 Girls should be able to put their brand of filth out there for any & all to see.

Ordinarily, I am Anti-censorship. But I also thing the world is going to hell in a super sonic hand basket & something needs to be done. I just don't know what.

Got an e-mail from my BFF.

She's a workaholic. So it's rare that I get an e-mail from her. She already works full time but now she wants to go back to school to get her Master's Degree on top of that!

And I got new pictures of her kids.

It makes me feel old.

The youngest is 14. I still remember when he was in the womb and kicking her & making foot shaped imprints (or whatever) on her belly. It grossed me out. It looked alien to me, LOL.

Now he's in HS???

*sigh*

Anyway, I'm going to try to get her to guest post on my blog when she has 5 minutes to spare.

We'll see.

I'm taking a xanax & going to bed!

Night. :-)

It's Sunday, March 9th

I have nothing about which to blog.

But I put that March NaBloPoMo badge up there, so here I is.

Um, have you ever typed a word that you know you know how to spell, but it looks wrong?

I just typed "though" on a comment on another blog. It kept looking wrong to me.

You will never guess what I did today.

No.

Nope. If I do that I will surely blog about it ASAP.

Nevermind, you won't guess.

I bought Mommy Dearest a card.

And it's not her birthday.

Or a holiday.

I TOLD you you'd never guess.

First, as I was getting ready to go to Wal Mart I said:

"Call Nana and ask her if she wants to go. Tell her I miss my momma and we haven't seen her in forever."
E - You tell her!

So I got on the phone & told her I missed her and fake cried.

E - I can hear her laughing from here.
Me - *To Evan* She said it's cold outside and she's not going out. *To MD* Well, *sniffle* ok. We might come by and see you after we go to Wal-Mart.

So at Wal-mart I bought her a card that said "Hug Hug Hug Hug Hug Hug Hug" on the front and on the inside it said "There's a hug for every day of the week. I miss you."

I even gave her a hug after she read the card.

I think she almost cried.

Then we stayed a couple of hours.

I came back with some Salsa con queso, Tang type stuff, pain relieving patches & jalapeño poppers. All stuff she felt like trying and didn't like.

It's the first time I ever tried the poppers. I liked them, but I can't see me buying them again. I felt a few more cellulite cells plump up on my ass with each bite.

I had those for dinner instead of the taco hot pocket. And a cupcake.

Then we watched women's Ninja Warrior.

Now I want to see Purple Rain.

I wish I had Under the Cherry Moon on DVD. It sucked, but the part about the Wrecka Stow always cracks me up. I love Jerome. :-)

Good night! :-)

Night of crazy dreams

I had multiple dreams last night.

The were all crazy.

When I woke up, I tried to go over them so that I'd remember them long enough to blog about them.

But then I took my antidepressant, which always makes me sleepy (maybe I should start taking it at night?)

And then when I woke up again, Evan was on the computer watching all of the youtube videos with chipmunk versions of his favorite songs (Kiss Kiss by Chris Brown in Chipmunk style is crazy!)

So I watched some of the crap I'd recorded and now I don't remember the dreams very well.

I know in the first one, we were having some kind of family cookout at my grandmother's house.

*sigh*

I can't remember them at all. I just know that there were 3 or 4 of them. All running together. I think ALL of my family members (cousins, uncles, aunts, etc) were in them.

I wish I could remember.

Whatever.

I have to go to Wal-mart. I'm craving chocolate cupcakes and a taco flavored hot pocket.

Adieu.

5. Blog Starr gets some Link Love for loving me in THIS POST.
6. I felt Monique's pain/outrage when I read THIS POST.
7. Grace gets a High 5 because I feel like it. (And because I can't remember the specific post that made me laugh or whatever...) :-)
8. Randi gets some love because I can't help but give props to people who take voting seriously, regardless of the candidate for whom they vote.

Crime 360 & Dirt

I recorded the new show "Crime 360" on A&E last night. (Thursdays @ 10pm EST).

Last night's episode was a rookie's first homicide case.

A dead body was found in the trunk of his (the victim's) car.

The show is a mix of CSI & other cop shows. (I don't watch them, so I can't tell you what other show it's like.)

It's not as cool as I thought it would be. The promos showed all the new technology that allows them to solve crimes. So I thought it would be a bunch of CGI showing how each little bit of evidence helped to solve the crime.

All the bits helped, but it basically came down to the suspect confessing.

I'll watch it again a few more times, unless it starts conflicting with some other shows.

Dirt on FX Sundays @ 10pm EST.

I watched this for the first time this week. I liked it.

Courtney Cox stars as the editor of a tabloid called "Dirt Now". Last year's season finale apparently showed her getting stabbed by one of the object of one of the stories in the rag. (And then the stabber got hit by a car. The funny thing was that while Cox is laying there bleeding half to death, she has the presence of mind to snap a picture of the dying star with her camera phone.)

So the season premier picks up with Cox waking up after being in a coma for 2 or 3 weeks.

Her best friend is schizophrenic.

Look, I can't give a cohesive synopsis of this show because I'm freezing sitting here and I really want to go back to sleep, LOL.

But it was good. And funny. I liked it a lot.

That is all.

Thursday, March 06, 2008

It's almost time for Evan to come home.

I'm debating whether I should get in bed and pretend I'm asleep so he'll be QUIET for a little while

OR

Hide & then jump out and scare him half to death.

I love scaring him.

He reacts with his whole body.

He screeches & then jumps up and falls.

HAAAAAAAAAA!

OMG.

If I had a video camera, I'd record it so you can see it.

It's so fun!

Once he had just gotten into bed and I kicked his door open like the dude in "300" and yelled "Did you brush your teeth?" and he screamed and fell out of bed.

LMFAO. It's cracking me up just thinking about it.

I know I'm evil.

But it's so much FUN! :-)

One thing that pisses me off more than Oprah.

Is someone calling me "Angie".

My name is Angelika.

I love my name.

DO NOT CALL ME ANGIE.

Ever.

Janet Jackson - Rock With U

I'm not really crazy about this song "Rock With U", but the video is good! (So much better than the cereal bowl disaster that was "Feedback")

I love the way they made it seem like it was all one take. There aren't 5,000 cuts like most videos these days (which kind of make me dizzy).

YAY for making a video the way videos should be made. Make the cuts seamless. Let us ENJOY the dancing or whatever is going on in the shot. Not everyone has the attention span of a gnat.

Well done, Miss Jackson. :-)

Why I hate Oprah

Y

es, I know that hate is a strong word.

What I feel about Oprah goes beyond the intense dislike that I feel for celebs like Britney Spears, Tom Cruise & Halle Berry, though.

First, I get SO SICK of white people telling me that I remind them of Oprah. She IS NOT the only intelligent & well spoken black woman in the world. But she's what comes to their minds. I'm sure they think it's a compliment.

But I equate it to the bigots who say "Nigger" 75 times a day and then turn around and tell me that I'm "not really black" so when they say "Nigger", it doesn't apply to me.

In addition, I think I am much hotter on my WORST day (flu, snot running out of my nose & sporting a black eye) than Oprah is on her BEST day.

The bitch is ugly.

Most importantly, I think that the Oprah Show is really just the "Church of Oprah". She doesn't have fans. She has disciples.

Grown women lose their minds when they see her. They act like a bunch of tweens at a Hannah Montana concert.

The woman has too much power & influence over a large part of the world population.

The ONLY reason I don't want her to die is because I think TV would become All Oprah, All the time. Worse than the massive Britney Spears Chaos. Worse than when Princess Diana died.

They'll erect a statue of her at Harpo Studios & fans will leave flowers & sob into the camera about how we've lost the closest thing to Jesus on earth.

I HATE OPRAH SO MUCH it's not even funny.

And just in case you were wondering, I got on this topic because someone at JJHF thought I loved Oprah.

Me - No you didn't. That's not funny.
She - For real!

I thought EVERYBODY knew how much I despise that woman.

I just had to clear that up.

The Jeannie Tate Show

Oprah

Well I finished Duma Key

I feel the kind of sadness I feel whenever I finish a book that I really liked. I want to know what happens next with the characters.

I'll probably read it again.

The whole book was good, but it got "Sitting on the edge of your seat" good in the last few chapters.

The story is of Edgar Freemantle who is a building contractor in Minnesota. He's happily married with 2 grown daughters.

One day, he goes to the job site and is hit by a crane that isn't making that "beep beep" noise as it backs into his truck.

He loses his right arm, breaks a few ribs & a hip, etc.

When it's clear that he'll survive. His wife tells him that she wants a divorce.

Anyway, he moves to Duma Key, Florida to wait it out until he can kill himself without the insurance company being suspicious, or making his daughters feel the stigma of a father who committed suicide.

While he's there, he remembers that he used to draw. (Lucky for him, he's a lefty.) So he starts drawing. And his right "arm" starts itching furiously.

While he's in these 'fugue states' the pictures that he draws (and eventually paints) are kind of psychic & very creepy.

While he's doing his rehab (walking on the beach for longer distances each day), he meets Wireman (I love Wireman). A former lawyer who is now the caretaker for an elderly lady named Elizabeth something.

That's all I'm telling you.

Read the book.

You can watch a short video of Stephen King describing Duma Key HERE. You can also download a PDF of the first chapter of Duma Key HERE.

Now I go to start reading again.

Walk like an Egyptian

By the Puppini Sisters. Check it out in my left sidebar. :-)

Monday's a Bitch - 3/3/08

Monday's a Bitch!

1. What smell reminds you of your childhood? I have no idea. I've tried to block out EVERYTHING about my childhood. But I guess air freshener (Not new things like Oust or other 'air sanitizers') gives me unpleasant memories of Mommy Dearest spraying the eff out of the air with rosy smelling crap.

2. Would you ever consider getting laser eye surgery? Hell to the naw. I don't want anyone messing with my eyes.

3. What food do you love now, that took you a long time to develop a taste for? Pork. I don't eat it often NOW, but I was about 24 or something before I finally bought a pork chop & cooked it. It seemed like all we ever had when I was living with my parents was freaking PORK. Because "Daddy likes it."

4. Do you have sensitive skin? Is there any material that you don't like touching your skin? I don't like anyone/anything touching my face. But I don't think I have sensitive skin.

5. Whose speaking voice is your favorite to listen to? I like falling asleep listening to Dr. House. I like men with deep voices. House's voice sounds deeper (to me) than Hugh Laurie's regular accent.

OH! But Stephen Fry's voice is kick ass! I think if I ever met him I'd feel like I was in trouble all the time, though, LOL. He has a very commanding voice.

And Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Even though he sounds like he needs to clear his throat, I like it. :-)

Random - 3/2/08

First:

Dear Baby Jesus,

Thank you for allowing me & my son to be born without Tourette's Syndrome or a stuttering problem.

You know how impatient I am. And if I had to wait for 2 minutes for Evan to get a word out, I'd lose what's left of my mind.

If I had Tourette's...I'd look like a total freak trying to walk with my toddler leg & then having some upper body tics as well.

So thank you. And your Father.

Angelika

We watched "True Life" on MTV about Tourette's & Stuttering. One of the people with TS was a...I don't know. Extreme BMX rider or something? Insane. He broke both of his legs. It's going to take 6 months of rehab before he's able to get back on his bike. And he will.

But anyway.

Evan acts like a man sometimes. (What with the not seeing things right in front of his face.) But today, he did a "man thing".

He was in there washing the dishes.

E - Mom
Me - Que?
E - I killed a fly. It was in there getting on my nerves & it landed on the curtain. All I could think to do was spray it with canola oil. It fell & I smashed it.
Me - So now there's a big grease spot on the curtains.
E - Probably
Me - At least the fly is dead...

????????

*woosah*

So the people I see every time I go to Wal-Mart are so sweet.

The one that usually has the electric cart there waiting for me wasn't there when we got in (there were no carts anyway) but as Evan was pushing me out, she said "I didn't see you come in!" Then she told some teenager to follow us out to the car, put my groceries in the trunk & bring the wheelchair back. That was nice.

The lady at the register said "Well I haven't seen you in a while!" I said "I guess we've just been missing each other." She always calls me by my last name. (She's never attempted my first name, LOL.) She's sweet.

I keep meaning to write a letter to Wal-Mart & tell them how helpful their greeters & cashiers are to me.

I hear tell the road to hell is paved with good intentions...

I'm itchy. All over. Must be an allergic reaction. I'm off to take some Benadryl.

Night! :-)

MonaRonaDona VIRUS

Evan turned on the computer this morning and got a popup message that said "Hi. I'm the MonaRonaDona Virus & I'm here to wreck your pc. etc."

Could not delete it from Startup & the Task Manager had been disabled.

I went here http://rapidshare.com/files/95966868/RemoveMonaRonaDona.exe & dowloaded and ran the file. It took 2 seconds. Literally.

All is well...

So far. *crossing fingers*

Dos el Sábado

I explained why I didn't do the high 5 on Friday thing.

And I've just gotten on the computer today. (I'm almost finished with Duma Key. I can't wait to see how it ends!)

So here's my sad attempt. For some reason, I thought the Spanish word for Saturday was Domingo. So the title of this post would have been Dos el Domingo. But I guess Domingo is Sunday? Whatever.

And I think I'll do 3 anyway, LOL.

I have to give it up to Grace be cause she pointed me to Naturally 7. A great A capella group. Kind of like Boys II Men or some other group that I can't remember right now.

And I want to say welcome to Freelance Guru because I'm hoping he will fill the void left in the place where my heart is supposed to be that remains after Freelance Cynic's defection from the blogging world... :-)
