Phriday Phree 4 All

Feeling Caffeinated

O

nce again I had a headache from hell so I had to take the Excedrin Migraine with caffeine in it. So I'm up for possibly the next 72 hours. I don't know. For the past week or so I haven't been on my meds (not all of them) because 1) I fucked up my car 2) I didn't want to run out of shit like xanax since I didn't know when I'd be able to get more.

Also, I'm beginning to think I'm allergic to caffeine. I keep meaning to google that. Hold on...

HOLY SHIT! I think I really am allergic to caffeine! I had my first ever panic attack after being up for 2 days & then taking the migraine pills with caffeine so I could stay awake long enough to drive to & from the surgeon who took out Evan's wisdom teeth.

Wow.

Entyway, my cousin was able to take me to Wal-Mart today to get my prescriptions and more MILK AND RAMEN for The Boy who eats like an entire football team (one of the reasons I buy lost of ramen is because it's cheap & he likes it. So what if it's not the healthiest diet. YOU raise a teenage boy on a fixed income and tell me what YOURS eats, bitch!)

Anyway, on the way back I thanked my cousin for driving me and she said "No problem, Cuz. I love you when you're off your meds, but I love you more when you're on them."

:-)

I'm sure The Boy will appreciate it too because yesterday he asked me if I was on my period. I was not. He didn't believe me, LOL.

I guess me without xanax or cigarettes is like having PMS 100% of the time.

Sucks to be him.

Anyway, since I am up so late I will put several posts in one. I'll understand if you don't read the entire thing, just promise you'll come back @ a later date to read it because I really am an awesome writer and I'd hate for you to miss out on any of the gems I have in store for you. :-)

Movies I saw during the free Showtime preview this past weekend include: Inglourious Basterds, Knowing, Extract, Extraordinary Measures, Push, and Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work. I will do quick reviews of each movie.

Inglourious Basterds DVD CoverInglourious Basterds
Starring: Brad Pitt, Eli Roth
Director: Quentin Tarantino
Genre: War, Dramedy
Plot(from IMDb.com) target: In Nazi-occupied France during World War II, a group of Jewish-American soldiers known as "The Basterds" are chosen specifically to spread fear throughout the Third Reich by scalping and brutally killing Nazis.
Should you see it? Yes
Rating (out of 5 hearts): ♥♥♥♥
My Comments: The only reason I didn't give it 5 hearts is because half the fucking movie was subtitled and the "genius" Tarantino decided to use yellow (???) for the color of the subtitles. I don't mind subtitles, I usually have the captions on anyway because I'm half deaf from all those years I spent listening to Prince music at full volume on my father's stereo headphones (in other words, it's like I spent 5 years going to Heavy Metal concerts every night). The yellow is hard to see. Had he chosen a different color...like PURPLE or some other color that wasn't in the movie background I wouldn't have had to pause the movie every time the yellow fucking captions went by too fast for me to read them. I read fast. Took a speed reading course even AFTER I knew I read faster than most people. So, yeah, FUCK YOU Quentin for the yellow captions. Asshole.

But the movie itself was good. It was funny and left me wishing that things really had happened that way. In case you were wondering, Tarantino managed to work his foot fetish into this movie too, LOL.

Knowing DVD CoverKnowing
Starring: Nicholas Cage, Rose Byrne
Director: Alex Proyas
Genre: Mystery, Sci-Fi
Plot(from IMDb.com) target: A teacher opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son's elementary school; in it are some chilling predictions -- some that have already occurred and others that are about to -- that lead him to believe his family plays a role in the events that are about to unfold.
Should you see it? Yes
Rating (out of 5 hearts):
My Comments: I haven't finished watching it yet, but the only reason is because I had so much shit taped from that weekend that I had to start watching other stuff before the DVR started deleting. I have it saved "until I delete" and I WILL finish it soon because what I have seen is interesting. As long as the ending doesn't let me down, I will probably end up buying it.

The girl in the beginning of the movie looks like Christina Ricci when she was in The Munsters or whatever that movie was back in the '90s.

Extract DVD CoverExtract
Starring: Jason Bateman, Ben Affleck, Kristen Wiig
Director: Mike Judge (of Beavis & Butthead)
Genre: Comedy
Plot(from IMDb.com) target: Joel, the owner of an Extract plant, tries to contend with myriad personal and professional problems, such as his potentially unfaithful wife and employees who want to take advantage of him.
Should you see it? Hell to the YES!
Rating (out of 5 hearts): ♥♥♥♥♥
My Comments: I watched this movie because I loved Beavis & Butthead, for Kristen Wiig because she's hilarious on SNL & Justin Bateman because I tend to love everything he's in. :-)

Totally worth it. I wouldn't even have been mad if I had paid to see it, unlike "Dinner for Shmucks". I didn't review that. But I went to the theater to see that shit because of Steve Carell & they had played all the best bits in the commercials for it. If you haven't seen that piece of decroded crap, wait for it to come on Comedy Central or something.

Anyway, loved this movie. Too bad I had to delete it because of space on my DVR. :-(

Extraordingar Measures DVDExtraordinary Measures
Starring: Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser
Director: Tom Vaughan
Genre: Drama
Plot(from IMDb.com) target: A drama centered on the efforts of John and Aileen Crowley to find a researcher who might have a cure for their two children's rare genetic disorder.
Should you see it? If you love Harrison Ford &/or You saw an advert for it and wanted to see it anyway
Rating (out of 5 hearts): ♥♥♥
My Comments: I am not a fan of Brendan Fraser. The only movies I remember enjoying with him in them were the Mummy franchise movies. I only watched this because of Harrison Ford. I fell in love with his acting in "Regarding Henry" and usually watch everything he's in.

This movie IS redeemed by Ford. He plays a character I've never seen him play before, which is an unsympathetic asshole. I mean, Han Solo was a wise ass, but he was charming. In the beginning of this movie I did not like Ford's character. But by the end he had shown some heart and I liked him.

I am a little confused about whether or not this was based on a true story. I don't remember seeing anything that indicated that in the title credits, but at the end of the movie they showed "So & so went on to blah blah" like they do when a movie is based on true events or real people.

I'm not sorry I watched it, but I don't know if I'd watch it again.

Push Movie PosterPush
Starring: Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning
Director: Paul McGuigan
Genre: Sci-Fi
Plot(from IMDb.com) target: Two young Americans with special abilities must race to find a girl in Hong Kong before a shadowy government organization called Division does.
Should you see it? *shrugs* If you like the genre or looking @ Djimon Hunsou.
Rating (out of 5 hearts): ♥♥
My Comments: I hadn't planned on watching or recording this, but Evan wanted to see it, so I recorded it. While he was watching it I was on the computer but I kept turning around to see the movie or ask him what was going on. He said "Why don't you just watch it when you want to & stop asking me what's going on every five seconds!" So I did. It was ok. I liked it better than freaking Hancock which is odd since I gave Hancock a higher rating. I'm thinking I need to adjust my rating criteria...

**Edited to say: If you liked the movie Jumper you'll probably like this. They are similar, IMO.

Joan Rivers DVD CoverJoan Rivers: A Piece of Work
Starring: Joan Rivers, Kathy Griffin
Directors: Ricki Stern, Anne Sundberg
Genre: Documentary
Plot(from IMDb.com) target: A documentary on the life and career of Joan Rivers, made as the comedienne turns 75 years old.
Should you see it? If you are a Joan Rivers fan.
Rating (out of 5 hearts): ♥♥½
My Comments: I like Joan Rivers when I see her on Fashion Police or TV interviews like The Wendy Williams show.

I was not prepared for Joan Rivers "in real life". Similar to the way I was not prepared for Whoopi Goldberg's non-fiction book in the '90s or something. She was raw & unedited and I came away thinking that she's a nasty woman, LOL.

I apparently need the constraints of television for people like Whoopi Goldberg & Joan Rivers. They make me laugh on TV, but I would not go to see their act in person if I were offered a free ticket.

I will give Rivers credit for allowing them to shoot her without makeup & for allowing them to shoot her at all because High Definition TV shows exactly how deformed she is from all of her plastic surgery (like Janice Dickenson). Pre-movie, I thought "She looks soooooo much better than she did in the 70s. She's had good surgeons." Post movie, I'm like "What the FUCK did they do to her face to make it lumpy like that? Ew. That face is made for Standard Definition tvs"

Anyway

It's Friday!

Feeling Normal

Y

ou know what that means, right? 48 uninterrupted hours with my handsome & surly teen who is acting so teenagery that I want to send him somewhere ELSE for about 5 years. Maybe 10.

It also means it's time for High Fives! In no particular order, here they are. :-)

Health & High Fives 9/23/10

Feeling Normal

So, I was supposed to get my stitches taken out on Wednesday. But I hadn't slept since Tuesday 9 am, so I decided not to go because one more day couldn't really hurt, right? So, I take a sleeping pill & I'm waiting to fall asleep.

Evan gets home and says he fell & hurt his wrist and he thought we needed to go to the ER.

Yay.

I call Mommy Dearest & told her that I hadn't slept but I had taken a sleeping pill so I really didn't want to drive 30 miles to the ER and risk falling asleep.

Blah blah.

Evan twisted his wrist but didn't fracture or break anything. While we were there, my PCP happened to be on duty so I had him look @ my stitches & he said they looked a little infected so he gave me a prescription for antibiotics and told me to come to his office on Saturday and he'd take them out. (I will not go to his office, because having the stitches taken out @ the ER is free since it's a continuation of getting the stitches. If I go see my PCP, I will have a $60 copay. No thank you. Medicare sucks.)

Krystal HamburgersAnyway, we were hungry when we left the ER, and I had gotten a headache so I took some headache medicine (with caffeine) and drank iced tea (caffeine) with my Krystals and...I was so buzzed my skin was literally vibrating.

No sleep that night either.

I finally fell asleep about 4 am on Thursday, so...45 hours with no sleep? Something like that. I slept until 8:30 am when my flipping cousin came over to borrow my jumper cables.

*sigh*

So, I went to go get my prescription. It said on the info not to eat for at least 1 hour after taking the medicine and not to lay down (?) for 30 minutes after taking it.

I sat up for 30 minutes and watched a few sitcoms that were on my DVR and then passed out, LOL. Slept pretty much all day yesterday. I had set my alarm for 9 am this morning to remind me to take another antibiotic.

I got nauseous, so sitting up for 30 minutes was no problem.

Then I pretty much passed out again.

Jensen AcklesI was trying to watch the Season 5 Supernatural Marathon on TNT, because season 6 premiers tonight and it would be nice to be caught up, but I kept falling asleep!

Finally decided to GET UP and post the few High Fives I saw this week while going through my 40+ hours of insomnia. Here they are in no particular order.

Oh wow, they're all from the same site, LOL.

Unintentional Racist Products - Product #1 brings back memories from Jr. High when the black kids used to call me Oreo. Black on the outside, white on the inside. Just because I don't speak Ebonics doesn't mean I'm not black! I'm not bitter about it at all... Anyway, make sure you read the comments because there were a few reader added products as well.

Man arrested for fighting with his parrot.

Steven Segal's Reggae Record. Not even a joke, man. WTF?

That is all for now. I really need to watch this marathon before tonight's new episode.

BTW, I think Jensen Ackles is my new crush. He's younger than me, so does that make me a cougar now?

High Five Friday & Complaining.

Feeling In Pain

W

ell, I was awakened in the middle of the night with a sinus headache which is currently throbbing on the left side of my forehead. Joy.

My left leg is also hurting. Not just my foot, my ENTIRE LEG. I admit that I have not been taking the darvocet every 4 hours as prescribed, I also know you're not supposed to chase pain. But, believe it or not, I really don't like taking narcotics unless I have to.

I guess I have to.

But I did manage to visit some blogs this week, so here are some High Fives in no particular order. :-)

You can see that I didn't do much blog hopping this week. I was all about Farmville, Mafia Wars & changing my blog template.

That is all.

It's Friday!

Feeling Normal

I

can't believe the week went by so fast.

Right now I'm putting off making spaghetti.

Probably because I'm hoping The Evil Teen (AKA Evan) will wake up and make himself a hot dog or something before I have to cook.

But anyway, I'm obsessed with my fingernails lately.

Don't know why. I've bought 2 different fingernail polishes this month.

I don't think I painted my nails more than once or twice in 2009, so why I'm suddenly painting my nails all the geedee time is a mystery to me.

But they do look good.

When I installed the software for the webcam, it didn't do the thing where I can just click on the top of the webcam to take a picture, and I don't care enough to re-install it. I also don't care enough to take a picture will my cell phone & send it to myself just to you can see.

Take it from me, I'm getting a lot of compliments on my nails. They look awesome, LOL.

Anyway, here are a few High Fives that I've found. I don't know when. Whatever.

Mashup - March 19, 2010

Feeling Normal

I

am still feeling like crap. Went to the ER Tuesday for a migraine. Got a shot (which usually knocks it out) and I was up within 4 hours still hurting.

Whatever.

I've been putting this blogging thing off until I felt better, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

Here are the High Fives I've collected over the past few weeks (months?). No particular order. I don't even remember what they are anymore, LOL.

The Sandra Bullock mess -

Dear Jesse James,

You are the scum of the earth. Fucking bike building suicidal LOSER!

I cannot believe that 1) You were able to fake being a decent enough man for Sandra Bullock to marry you when, pre your sorry ass, she said she had no interest in getting married and 2) That you were having an affair with some tattoed slutwhore for a whole Goddamned YEAR!!!!!

Sandra Bullock loved you AND your children. Didn't she adopt (or was about to adopt) your daughter to get her the fuck away from your ex porn star wife???

You didn't just do Sandra wrong, you've done your kids wrong.

You gained a lot of respect and credibility when Sandra Bullock married you, you trifling ass fucker.

Burn in hell!

Sincerely,
A woman who had no plans to ever get married anyway, but you've certainly not helped to change my mind about that decision and I can't even think of a vile enough name to call you!

Tiki

Took her to the Vet this week for her second round of shots & heart worm pills. She was good at the vet's. Tore up a rug and lots of other shit in my mother's back yard that Evan and I had to clean up since she's our dog when she's bad, LOL.

Tiki's Mess

See all that dirt & whatnot on the concrete? She knocked over a couple of MD's plants and spread the dirt all over the place. Took the rug out of her dog house, took the rug from the back door & flipped it over (that thing weights at least 10 lbs. She's only 18 lbs. No idea how she did that, LOL.)

Tiki 31610B

Tiki 31610

I finally saw her teeth @ the Vet's. I didn't realize that they were so tiny. I guess she's teething and that's why she's chewing on rugs and shit. Even the wood pile. Of course, she ignores her chew toys...

Movies & Shows I've watched recently

Minute to Win it - On NBC. I probably wouldn't have watched it if the host wasn't Guy Fieri. I like the show, but much like that Fox show that was on last summer or whenever (the one where the people won money if they told the truth when asked questions), I zapped through a lot of it. So it takes about 15 minutes to watch a 60 minute show, LOL. But if there's nothing else on, it's worth checking it out.

This is it - The Michael Jackson movie. I borrowed it from MD. I guess if you're a true MJ fan, it's good to see. But...whatever, man. It didn't change my life. It will be on MTV or BET at some point. Just wait to see it then if you're not a hard core Michael fan.

Lost - WTF? I thought we were supposed to be getting answers???????? The first few shows this season have just raised more questions. The main one, for me at least, being "Why the hell are we seeing how the Oceanic 8's lives intersected before they came to the island?"

TJ Ramini24 - HOLY SHIT! Renee has gone crazy, LOL. Freddie Prinze Jr's accent is getting on my last nerve. That guy who plays Tarin Faroush is fine as hell, though. Glad he's not dead, LOL.

19 Kids and Counting - So glad that baby Josie is ok!!!!!!!!!! I had been watching that show since they had 17 kids (I think) and I was really concerned that Josie, who was born 3 months premature, would not survive. I prayed for the Duggars & Josie in particular. No matter how you feel about their decision to have 19 children, you have to feel for that precious baby.

Now I just hope Michelle & JimBob stop. Seriously. Plus I'm sure they have some debt now with the hospital bills!!!

I think that's it.

Now, you go pray for me that I get whatEVER it is that's giving me daily headaches that hurt so bad I want to cry finally stops. Thank you. :-)

I got a new stove last night!I watched "Eastwick" last night. It was good! It will be canceled soon I bet, LOL. It's based on "Witches of Eastwick" which starred Cher, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Pfeiffer & Jack Nicholson back in the day.

CSI:NYI don't remember what else I watched. I know I watched CSI: NY at some point.

Stella slept with Adam for reasons which are unknown to me. Danny is in a wheelchair from a shooting that occurred when they (The CSIs) were all at a bar remembering whichever one Det. Flack was sleeping with last season.

So much crap happens IRL from the season finale of a show one year to the season premiere later in the year that I forget what happened if I don't watch the repeats.

The only repeats I watch are House (because he's my Boyfriend in my mind) & Bones (in syndication because I didn't start watching it for a couple of years).

This is a schizophrenic post, LOL.

I don't care!

OH! I watched Heroes.

T-bag from Prison Break is on there now.

I don't know if I'm going to continue to watch it, though. I can't watch it on NBC in its regular night because it conflicts with other crap, so I have to watch it on G4 and those bastards have chat crap going on on the side & bottom of the screen.

Plus I really don't care what happens to them anymore.

What else didn't I watch? Grey's Anatomy. It was 2 hours, so it would have conflicted with other shows I wanted to record. I'm thinking about quitting them anyway. I don't even know why I started watching that show...

New StoveI think that's all.

I got a new stove last night! I've only been living here for 17 years with the same oven from 1953 (slight exaggeration). But now I can't figure out how to get the burners up to wrap them with foil. I don't want to break it when I just got it, LOL.

Seriously. I can't clean the stove top if I can't lift the burners. There is no info about how to lift them in the manual either...

That really is all.

I have to do the damned grocery shopping.
