You need to be watching

Feeling Normal

J

oan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? Tuesdays @ 9/8C on WE TV.

Why?

Because Joan Rivers is a fraking Nutbag but she cracks me the hell up.

I wasn't able to watch it until today when the OnDemand on my DVR decided to start working again. It stopped working, so I called the cable company, when the guy showed up it was working, then after he left it stopped working again. I have a few things I've taped that I want to keep forever so I never called them back again to fix it, I just kept checking every day to see if it was working yet.

Joan & Melissa RiversAnyway, I was able to watch the first 3 episodes. Here are a few of the things I've seen:

  1. Joan brought her dog with "urinary issues" to California from New York even after Melissa said no.

  2. When Joan met the Nanny, she looked @ Melissa & mouthed "Are you fucking serious?" Because, according to Joan, you either have an ugly nanny or a gay nanny. Not a gorgeous Swedish chick who walks around looking like a whore.

  3. Joan collects the ashes of her dead loved ones (at least 3) and wants to be cremated & mixed with them after she dies.

  4. She went all over Hollywood (Rodeo Drive & Judy Garland's house) to spread some of "Uncle Tommy" around to the places that he loved when he was alive

  5. Joan BARGED IN while Melissa was taking a shower to get some nude pics because the dude who created "Girls Gone Wild" wanted to have Melissa in a new video called "Hollywood Moms gone wild" & Joan wanted her to do it. (She threatened to leak the pictures, I don't know if she ever has. Or will)

  6. She surprised Melissa with a new living room by giving away all of Mel's furniture to a charity & brought in new stuff that looked more "New York"

  7. Apparently, no woman in that family has been able to cook for 200 years. Seriously. They eat take out @ every meal.

  8. Joan is much more spry & flexible than I would have thought. When she was looking for her husband's ashes under the bed, she walked on her knees to look all around on the floor! My knees hurt if I have to get on them AT ALL

I can't remember all the shit that Joan does. But she's crazy!

Entyway, I've been feeling like shit for a few weeks. This week more than usual. I can't explain it to you.

*sigh*

Today, since I had to go out to get some food & and an oil change, I happened to run into "Usher". I think I told you about him last century? Mebbe? I don't know. But he moved & I haven't seen him since. Today as I was waiting to tell the person what I wanted done to my car, I saw another dude who used to sell weed and now just looks like he's on crack so I said "Hi."

Skinny Dreadlocks"Usher" said "He's the only one you see?"
Me - Oh, Hey! I didn't recognize you with all that hair! (He's got the skinny dreads that I want on my hair)

I always thought he was cute. He used to flirt when he lived here. Told my cousin to tell me that if I ever needed to get laid, to come on over to his house, but of course I never did because I was probably in my 20s and he is younger than me.

Anyway, I asked where he had his dreads done and he said his cousin did them and he'll send her to do mine.

But I already bought the locking gel today so I plan on starting them this weekend.

Whew!

My Vicodin (for my back) & Xanax (for my nerves) is finally kicking in.

I hope I feel better tomorrow.

I haven't even been on the computer since last month. Can you buleedat?

TTYL!

Growing up Twisted

Feeling Normal

T

his week, after seeing Dee Snider (of Twisted Sister fame) on The Wendy Williams show, I decided to check out his new reality show on A&E (Tuesdays at 10/9c).

The quick and dirty review is that they are the Osbournes without the addiction problems or yelling.

:-)

There is a lot of crying.

Mama starts to cry when she thinks one of her kids has gotten a tattoo because it's "so white trash"

The 13 year old girl throws a fit when they take apart her rusty trampoline for their granddaughter's christening.

Dee Snider & FamilyMama cries after she realizes that removing the tat of Dee's name from her shoulder really hurt him, so she gets another tat.

The oldest son cries when he sings to his baby at the christening. (It was emotional. I even teared up a bit.)

Um, I'm sure there was more crying.

The kids are totally disgusted by the fact that after 34 years, their parents still have sex and their mother dyes her pubic hair.

Son A - Mom, who does this? No one even has pubic hair anymore!
Dee - That's something new. The old schoolers all have pubic hair.

They're a funny family. And, as Dee said on Wendy, none of his 4 kids have been arrested for DUI or gone to rehab.

If you liked The Osbournes or Gene Simmon's Family Jewels, you will like this too.

Some new shows I've been watching

Feeling Normal

I

haven't slept since yesterday. I think I got up @ 11 am? So 26 hours and counting...

I keep going to bed. I yawn. I never fall asleep.

*sigh*

So anyway, I may have told you about these before. I don't care enough to go check. Deal with it! :-)

The Family CrewsThe Family Crews on BET Sundays 9/8 pm

Remember the dad on "Everybody Hates Chris"? Or Damon on "Friday after Next"? That's Terry Crews. The Family Crews is his reality show.

I love this family! I always enjoyed seeing Terry Crews' acting, but seeing him as a person brings a whole new appreciation to his work for me. He's been married for 20 years. They have 5 kids (4 girls, 1 boy).

It's WONDERFUL to see positive black families represented on TV. If you're not black, you probably don't think about this. But imagine if every show on TV was like a live action "Family Guy". Not the best representation of any group of people, let alone all white people.

We (black people) see a lot of gang bangers, pimps, drug dealers, criminals & buffoons. But other than the "token" black guy, we don't get a lot of positive representations of "us". Definitely NOT in reality TV.

Let me try to think of another positive black reality show...

Um...

---

Nothing's coming to mind.

Whatever.

Justified
Tuesdays at 10/9 pm on FX

I've only seen the first episode, but I liked it A LOT.

It's about a Deputy Marshall (played by Timothy Olyphant) who is sent back to his home state of Kentucky after a justified shooting of a suspect.

It's kind of like a western.

He's a quick draw dude. Good looking dude. I can't explain it.

It's action & sex & stuff. Just check it out, LOL.

Human Target CastHuman Target Wednesdays @ 8/7 pm on Fox

A man named Christopher Chance (maybe?) is some kind of spy that other people call when they can't do the job themselves.

I must admit that the lead in this show (Mark Valley) is my "totally hot in a stereotypical Californiaesque" type of man (even though I claim not to find blonde men attractive). His looks have nothing to do with why I continue to watch the show.

I watch the show because a) it's action b) OMFG Mark Valley is hot and perfect masturbation fantasy material 3) the show looks like a movie! I mean the way it's shot & whatnot.

I wish they did that more often. I wonder if it's expensive?

Who cares? I love it.

Every week is a new situation, new people, new ways for Chi McBride's character to get fed up with Chance's risk taking, LOL.

You have to watch this show if you like action! :-) You can watch full episodes at Fox.com.

Kirstie Alley's Big Life Sundays @ 10/9 pm on A&E

We all know about Kirstie Alley's battle with weight.

I don't care about that.

I just wanted to see this woman who is so obsessed with Jamie Foxx that she can't stop Twittering about him.

She's funny! I'd be her friend. I'll watch the rest of the season just for her snarky sense of humor.

OMG at least watch the first episode so you can see her call the black fitness trainer and tell him she's "down with brown but black is whack" while her black stylist is sitting beside her trying not to crack up.

This woman is bat shit crazy and I LOVE IT!

Jerseylicious

No, I do not understand my current obsession with all things Jersey.

It started with Real Housewives of NJ. Then Jersey native Wendy Williams gets her own talk show. Then I had to watch "The Jersey Shore" because I wanted to see this little oompa loompa with a bouffant get punched in the face and I had to keep watching after I saw that episode.

Dudes (Ladies too).

If you thought Snooky was tanorexic, you will not believe Olivia. She's darker than me. She's like Indian from India dark. She said something like "Yeah, my skin might look like leather in the future, but I look good today!"

I think she has a bit of ADD too.

Whatever.

If you're a Jerseyholic the way I (apparently) am. Check this show out, LOL.

How long is this post anyway?

There's more, but Blogger just told me that my labels can't be more than 200 characters, so I'll save some for another time when I'm too hyped to sleep.

Smooches!

Obsessed

Feeling Surprised

O

MLY, I just watched Obsessed on A&E.

It's a show about people with OCD and they get therapy to get over their obsessions. It's like Intervention for people with OCD. The first episode showed Helen & Scott.

"I mean, I still like to eat my M&Ms according to color from least to greatest, but I'm not checking the fucking alarm clock 50 times an hour."Scott had the OCD that we (probably) always think of. He was germ obsessed. He wouldn't have any garbage cans in his house (he took trash straight out to the garbage can in the back yard), he wouldn't hang up towels in his house (because he'd use them and put them directly in the washer), he couldn't have a real relationship.

His therapist exposed him to his "triggers" and after 3 months, he was finally living with his BF and NOT obsessing about everything. When his therapist came over for one of his "exposure" days, she told him she was on her period and had to use his bathroom. She made him find something as a trash can so she could put her "used" tampon in there.

After he got rid of the trash, she made him touch the basket that she had used as a trash can, put the clean towels in the basket & then touch them to his face, and not wash his hands or the bathroom.

You know he was freaking the fark out, LOL.

Helen was afraid of driving on the highway. Her father died from a bus crash about 2 years after her mother died of cancer.

She kept the clothes he died in, blood and all, and would wear them. She did the repetitive checking of alarm clocks, locks, stove burners, even asking her 3 children over and over again if they were wearing their seat belts.

I joke about being OCD. I mean, I am a little anal. Compared to the people I saw tonight, I am the most well adjusted human being EVER, thankya Jaysus.

I mean, I still like to eat my M&Ms according to color from least to greatest, but at least I'm not checking the fucking alarm clock 50 times an hour.

Whew.

Anyway, I don't like to end on a low note (inside joke), so here's a rap from "The Mighty Boosh". It comes on Sundays at 1 am on Cartoon Network. If you haven't seen it, watch it. You can watch it on youtube, I guess.

The Other Stall

I

have nothing about which to write, so I'm posting a joke I got in my e-mail today.

This could happen to you.

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:
'Hi, how are you?'

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
'Doin' just fine!'

And the other person says:
'So what are you up to?'

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
'Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!'

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
'Can I come over there?

Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them
'No..I'm a little busy right now!'

Then I hear the person say nervously...
'Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions.'

Cell phones, don't you just love them?

OH! I remember what I was going to blog about now.

Jeremy WadeI recorded River Monsters on Animal Planet just...because. Then when the host, Jeremy Wade, took off his shirt I thought "Whoa! Silver Fox."

I couldn't find a good picture of him online. He's, apparently, very low profile on the interweb.

But if you GO HERE, you can watch a video from the episode I recorded. :-)

Nothing important to say

F

irst, I've been finding a lot of funny and/or interesting post for this week's High Fives list. I don't usually find so many in one day.

----------------
Now playing: Fantasia - Baby Makin' Hips

Maybe I'm just in a good mood?

I fell asleep so early last night that I didn't see Real Housewives of NY or Deadliest Catch or anything. I think I fell asleep during Fringe. I'm usually lucky if I get to sleep before Craig Ferguson comes on.

Of course, I spent all of today asleep, after waking up at 5 am.

Kelly BensimonI did watch RHoNY today, though.

Kelly was already my least favorite after she told Bethenny that she was "down here" while she (Kelly) was "up here". Last night she showed up 2 hours late for her own party??? But the Duchess or Countess or whatever the eff she is, is just appearing more and more ridiculous to me. First she tells some chubby girl at the Boys & Girls Club (or whatever) that she has plenty of time to lose weight if she wants to be a model. Then she goes OFF on Ramona for saying that her husband is twice her age. That's not even the bad part. She kept leaving the room and coming back to tell her off some more. This from the woman writing a book on "class".

...

----------------
Now playing: Will Smith - Switch

Stephen FryAnyway, Stephen Fry is my favorite celebrity Twitterer. He Tweets every day. He even does some audio Tweets. They're called "Boos" I think? He always sounds so happy. Apparently, he even answers the people who respond to his Tweets. But I luff him, so he can do no wrong. :-)

I knew, from reading his blog, that he was quite Tech Savvy, but I think he's the only celebrity I've seen that actually seems to "connect" with his fans.

In case you were wondering, I am also following Sherri Shepherd (who tweets A LOT), Borat, Tina Fey, Ellen Degeneres, Tyler Perry, Kathy Griffin and Katt Williams. Tina is always funny. I don't think I've heard anything from Tyler Perry, which is shocking since he e-mails 12 page e-mails semi-regularly. Katt is the same on Twitter as he is in his act. All of his Tweets contain "ni&&a" or "playa", LOL.

----------------
Now playing: Adele - Chasing Pavements

I forgot what I was going to say. Maybe I'll remember when I get back from "the powder room"...

BRB

I'm back.

And I don't remember.

Whatevurrrrr.

Who do I admire?

Always Looking Up Michael J Fox

T

oday's Plinky Prompt was "Who do you admire & why?"

That question, or "Who is your hero" has never made any sense to me, because I don't look to celebrities or politicians to tell me how I need to be.

After I thought about the question, however, I remembered that I always admire people with disabilities who don't have the attitude "My life is over now. My disease/disability defines me."

Michael J. Fox is an example of that. He has Parkinson's (I think that's the one?) and he's still doing his thing. He has a new book that just came out called Always Looking Up.

Not only is he dealing with his disease, but he is doing everything he can to find a cure for himself and others. Like Christopher Reeve did and Montel Williams does.

I admire that.

Betty and Rebecca HayesI also admire all the mothers with more than one child that do their very best to raise their kids. They recognize that each of their children has a different personality and they respect and enjoy that. They do things than would have me pulling out my hair.

Betty Hayes (with one of her 10 [ten] children) is an example. When I watch the show Table for 12, I can tell that Betty and Eric love each other and every single one of their children. They do things with their children and for their children.

Rebecca, one of their 4 year old sextuplets, has Cerebral Palsy. They take her to a ranch with therapy horses so that she can get some core strength and maybe, eventually learn to sit up by herself.

Betty has a child who may never be able to say "I love you, Mommy". As a mother, I know how much it means the first time your child says that and every time your child says that.

We do so much for our kids that never seems to get recognized or appreciated, but we do it because we love them.

Evan age 12That's why I admire the women who can do a good job raising more than one child. More than one "normal" child. I cannot begin to imagine doing it with a child who has disabilities so severe that she may never speak, or learn to feed herself, or get a job, nodamene?

I admire that more than I can say.

Obviously, I'm not saying that mothers with one child don't deserve admiration, or that single mothers don't deserve recognition because I am a single mother with a one child. It's hard. It's the hardest thing I've ever done.

But when I look at what other people have to deal with compared to what I have to deal with... I feel like I should count my blessings and thank God that I have the life that I have.

My particular disability (Multiple Sclerosis) sucks ass. But it has made it possible for me to be able to stay at home and raise my son while paying my bills. My son is smart, handsome, funny and usually a joy. I feel like I've lucked out. :-)

Thursday, April 02, 2009

It's almost 4 am, and I'm still awake.

:-(

*sigh*

This is one of the few times I've watched ALL the shows that my DVR recorded on the same night that they were recorded. I've even watched some shows that I would not have otherwise watched.

Billy BrethertonI saw "The Exterminators" for the first time. There were 3 episodes in a row. It's about a family that has an extermination business in Louisiana. The main guy, Billy, is an animal lover so he'd rather trap than kill. He works there along with his mom, dad, wife, brother and sometimes his brother's ex-wife that everyone in the family hates.

The thing that made me decide to record the series was when Billy had to get rid of a 7 foot beehive and instead of the usual white bee keeper suit, he pulls out black leather, a black feather boa and a black skull Halloween mask.

It's like a rock star on a reality show & a soap opera (with Billy's ex-SIL) rolled into one. Check it out!

What else did I watch?

I don't even remember.

God.

I had to go to Wal-mart today and it seems like every child under 5 was in there screaming.

I should know better than to go to ANY store on the first of the month, because that's when all the SS and Disability checks come, so everyone shops on those days.

Nauseous GirlI had a headache when I went there, but by the time I left I just wanted to cry. Or vomit. Or both.

I'm tired of this shit. All week I've been nauseous. Like "I can barely eat sick to my stomach" and I don't know why. I finally took a phenergan tonight to help with the nausea, which usually knocks me out. No such luck tonight.

The good news is that if I stay sick like this for the rest of the month, I should be able to get back into my "skinny jeans" which are NOT skinny. Just skinny for me, LOL.

I wish I could throw up, though. I usually feel better after I throw up.

*cries*

Audition by Barbara WaltersI'm going to try and finish Audition tonight. I'm up to the George W. years... The writing doesn't look small, but it's taking me a long ass time to get through this book even though I read at least 50 pages a day. I would have been done with a Harry Potter book last week and this book has about 200 fewer pages than the average HP novel.

I also got a novel by Kathy Reichs (?) the one on whom the show "Bones" is based. That writing is extremely small. I read a few chapters.

!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe that's what gave me the damed headache that I've had forever in the first place!!

My eyes are getting old.

I'm out!

Reality Show Roundup

T

his weekend, I watched 2 new Reality Shows on VH1.

The first was Confessions of a Teen Idol which is about former stars trying to recapture their fame again. The "stars" include: Chris Atkins (Blue Lagoon), David Chokachi (Baywatch), Bill Hufsey (Fame), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Eric Nies (The Real World & The Grind), Jamie Walters (90210), Adrian Zmed (Grease & TJ Hooker).

Chris Atkins needs a sandblaster on his wrinkles. He has not aged well, IMO. But this week's episode had a focus group of women and they said he looked like the new Robert Redford.

Eric Nies I remember from the first season of "Real World". He has turned into a hippie. Like wheat grass drinking, hemp clothes wearing, rarely take a shower hippie. Such a disappointment.

I never watched Baywatch, so I don't remember Jeremy Jackson at all, but I do remember David Chokachi. He still looks hott, but he's a diva. I wonder if they, the former 'teen idols' thought about how they would come off on TV? Scott Baio was funny on his show. He's one of the hosts of this. But these other jokers are just sad. I don't like any of them.

If you want to see how your former favs have aged in the past 20-30 years, check it out (Sundays @ 8pm EST). Otherwise, it's a waste of time.

The second new show I watched was Tool Academy.

Basically, it's about a bunch of asshole/loser guys and the stupid women who date them. The men were told that they were on a reality show called "Mr. Awesome" and at the end one of them would win $100,000 dollars. Then they told them that their girlfriends had sent them there to a) learn what makes them such a tool and b) try to fix it and see if their relationship could be saved.

I'm sorry, but the women on this show are the ones who need therapy. Yes, there are men who are jerks and will abuse you and use you, but you should have enough brains in your head to realize that you don't spend your child support money taking care of some douchebag. WTF?

The first guy got eliminated, I forget why, but the girlfriend still got in the car and went away with him. Facking idiot.

When the therapist shows you videos of your "man" saying that he has you trained, or that you're his 'bottom bitch', or that he's just slept with some other woman 3 days ago, you don't stay with the bastard!!!

Woosah.

The next new show, Sober House with Dr. Drew Pinsky's Gun Show, will be premiering on Thursday at 10 pm EST.

It takes some of the celebrities from "Celebrity Rehab" and shows them right after they leave rehab to go to sober living.

The celebs include Steven Adler (Guns n Roses), Seth "Shifty" Binzer (Crazy Town), Andy Dick, Mary Carey (Porn Star), Rodney King (Beat down by the LAPD), Nikki McKibbin (American Idol 1st season), Amber Smith (Supermodel) and Jennifer Gimenez (Model, Actress, Music Video Ho).

Having not seen this show yet, I can't really say anything about it. So I won't. Except I hope Dr. Drew wears those tight t-shirts some more. :-)

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I bought a pack of cigarettes.

B

ecause I felt like it.

I asked Evan if he thought switching schools would help him do his work. He said "No."

I didn't think so, but I had to ask. Made sure no one is bullying him or making fun of me. (Everyone at his school always asks about me because they know I have MS. They must think I'm dying. I have no idea what he tells them.) He said "No."

Then I was watching Coolio's Rules and I made him watch a particular scene when Coolio is talking to his son, who has no ambition other than being a rapper. He doesn't have a job, doesn't want to get a job. Doesn't want to help around the house, etc.

I was talking to Evan about the fact that his ONLY JOB is to do the best that he can do in school. Yes, I make him help out around the house, but I had to do that too.

I had to mow the lawn, wash the dishes, clean up around the house and STILL make Straight A's in school.

I told him for the 5 millionth time that he is not thinking about his future.

I don't even want to go into it again.

But I ended with "You don't have the right to say that you're tired of school. You've been going for seven years. You're 12. Get over it. There's always going to be something that you don't want to do or don't like to do. You'll have the opportunity to get a career that you love if you get into college. If you don't, you'll just have a job and whether you like it or not, you'll have to do it to pay your bills."

I sent him to bed.

Then I went to get cigarettes.

I got the cheapest brand (which always tastes disgusting).

Whatever.

I'm going to take a xanax and hope that it fixes my effing neck because the heating pad isn't doing crap. :-(

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Please tell me you're watching these trainwrecks.

F

irst is the return of Celebrity Rehab. I get to see more of Dr. Drew's Gun Show. WHOOOOO HOOOOOO.

Anyway, Gary Busey is there this time.

He claims he's 13 years sober (that's if you don't include his 'medicinal' marijuana).

He thought he was there to be a counselor.

...

People, you have to watch this show just to see him. Furreal. I did not know that he'd had brain surgery. Maybe that's why he's so insane?

Also on this season are Rodney King. (Yes, THE Rodney King.) Some chick from American Idol season 1, Tawny Kitaen (who looks like The Cat Lady Jr *shudder*), Jeff Conaway (back again), Amber Smith, Rod Stewart's son, and Steven Adler. I think that's it.

Here's Dr. Drew's recap of the first episode:

Next is Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling with Frank Stallone, Dennis Rodman, Danny Bonaduce, Screech (Dustin Diamond), Tiffany ('I think we're alone now' fame), Ian Ziering's plastic wife, Tabitha from Bewitched (She looks the same!), some UFC fighter named Butterbean, Todd Bridges, Trishelle from The Real World Las Vegas... I think that's it?

Really, I just want to see somebody kick Screech's ass "accidentally". It's interesting watching them learn the moves, though.

Danny Bonaduce is crazy. You knew that already, but this really works for him inside the wrestling ring. It's okay to watch if nothing else is on...

Both of these shows come on multiple times, so just check your local listings. :-)

Random thoughts - 9/24/08

S

tuff has been running through my mind, but none of it is interesting enough for an entire blog post.

So here's what I've been thinking about lately:

1. Does anyone take Ben Affleck seriously as an actor? I was watching some Harrison Ford/Tom Clancy movies and they asked who made the best Jack Ryan. Affleck, Ford or Alec Baldwin. I have The Hunt for Red October & one or two of the ones starring Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan, but I still can't remember which one Ben Affleck did and I don't care enough to look it up. The only movies I remember with Affleck were Good Will Hunting and Gigli... What else has he done?

2. Have you noticed that when critics love a show, it gets canceled? "Fringe is being hailed as this season's best new drama series." So I'm kind of expecting it to get canceled after one season, LOL.

3. I just started watching Lost on G4. I love it! But I couldn't watch it before because it conflicted with other shows I watched. At least now I don't have to wait a week to see the next new episode. I get it every day. :-) Don't tell me what happens.

4. Fucking cable company is changing the channel lineup AGAIN. I have most of those crap channels blocked from my DVR. I do not watch shopping channels, weather channel, soap network or Christian networks. Does this mean I'll have to a) go back and add all those freaking channels back? (probably) and 2) change my series recordings to match the new channels or will the DVR be smart enough to figure this out on it's own? I have about 150 series scheduled (You know, for the fall, mid-season, summer schedules). Thankfully, the big 5 networks won't be changing, but I'll have to reprogram all the Bravo crap and Travel Channel crap. And some of that stuff isn't on the schedule right now. And I will forget about the show. I don't even know what day anything I watch NOW comes on (Except House) until I see it on "My Recordings".

5. I'm looking forward to "Chocolate News" with David Alan Grier (or whatever) and Real Housewives of Atlanta. Damnitalltohades! I just remembered that I'll have to change any comedy central & cartoon network (Boondocks, Squidbillies, Aqua Teen, Lucy - Daughter of the Devil) shows I tape too! *cries*

6. I like Tabatha's Salon Takeover. It's like Kitchen Nightmares for salons! I hated Tabatha when she was on that Bravo show with one of Charlie's Angels. (I know her name, I just don't feel like typing it. Bite me. I don't, however, remember the name of the show.)

7. I loved CSI: Miami last night. Horatio kicks anus!

8. And I loved tonight's House episode. I like the private detective guy. I guess he's House's sounding board until Wilson's bitch ass comes back. But anyway, tonight's (Oh, I'm writing this yesterday at midnight thirty) episode made me LOL several times. And Hugh looks good with the shorter hair. Is it just me, or are they showing more of his bald spot this season? Me likey. Plus after all of those "You're losing your hair" jokes/comments from Wilson, and the fact that everyone knows that Hugh has a rather substantial bald spot, it's kind of stupid to keep trying to make him look younger. He's sexy just the way he is. :-)

9. I'm halfway through the premier of Heroes. I'm recording it on G4 because NBC conflicts with other crap I'm taping. Don't ask me what. But anyway, I had totally forgotten that Nathan Petrelli got shot. When I read the info and it said "We find out who the shooter was" I was thinking "Who got shot?" HA! WTF is wrong with the Indian doctor? He wants everybody to have superpowers? Seriously?

10. I love the G4 Network. Ninja Warrior, Unbeatable Banzuke, Hurl.

11. Last year I finally stopped watching Prison Break (or maybe before? I don't remember how long it's been on) because I lost interest after they broke out of the first prison. I still recorded it for Evan, though, because I thought he liked it. Turns out he only liked it because it he thought I liked it and it was something we could watch together. Awwwwwwwwww. How sweet is that? We still watch House together, but I'm hoping we will find another series that we both like. He liked "The Mentalist" tonight. So maybe that will be "our show" from now on?

This post is probably long enough.

And I have to tinkle.

I'm out.

New Reality Shows!

The Cho Show on VH1 (Thursdays @ 11pm EST) starring Margaret Cho.

There are so many new shows coming on this season that I don't even know about most of them. The Cho Show is one of them. Luckily, I happened to catch the beginning of the premier episode. Margaret was winning the Korean of the Year award. She didn't know if she even wanted to go to the awards because for her entire career, she's felt like Koreans hated her. She wasn't, according to them, Korean enough. I can totally identify with that, because black people (when I was in Jr. High & High School in Maryland) told me that I wasn't black enough.

As if anyone looking at me wouldn't instantly categorize me as black. But apparently you aren't black if you don't speak ebonics & have hair styles that are in "Black Hair" magazine.

Whatever.

I really enjoyed the show & Margaret. I will be recording the entire season (which will be too short). I never knew anything about her except that she made fun of her mom in her act (her parents are in the show too, so we finally get to hear her mother, LOL.)

Loved it! Here's a clip.

Next was Glam God starring Vivica A. Fox on VH1 (Thursdays at 10 pm EST)

It's like Project Runway for Fashion Stylists. Wasn't blow away by it. It looks like a show for Vivica Fox to show off all of her wigs & outfits. I don't think I'll be watching it again unless nothing else is on. Here's the trailer...

Next was Jacked on A&E (Thursdays at 10 pm EST) about the Auto Theft Task Force in Newark, New Jersey (at least, I think it's in only one town).

I don't know what to say about this. It was not as exciting interesting, to me, as Parking Wars. But it was...ok. I guess if you like Cops, you might like this? I don't know. I'll watch it if nothing else is on.

There was no easy way for me to embed a video clip of the show, so you'll have to go to the site to check it out.

The last new show I saw was The Principal's Office on TruTV (Thursdays at 9 pm EST).

Loved it! I really admire people who work in the educational field, because I could not do it without getting arrested. Principal Steve Halter (Booneville High School in Arkansas) could be any principal in my town. There are 2 other principals (I think) one in Connecticut & one in New Jersey.

I will definitely be recording this season. And making Evan watch it too to see what kind of stupid crap can get you into trouble and tell him not to do it, LOL.

If you have children, or have ever been a child you should definitely check it out. It's very entertaining and educational too! :-)

That is all!

Bikini or Bust

Y

esterday, I was about to watch one of my recorded programs & I happened to see a bit of "Ashley Paige: Bikini or Bust" (FYI - I didn't see anything on that page until I switched from Firefox to IE on my browser.) I had heard of her in passing, but since fashion isn't one of my "things", I wasn't really interested in seeing the show before. I don't remember what the clip was, but it was interesting enough for me to watch the rest of the episode.

For those of you who don't know, Ashley Paige is THE bikini designer for A-list celebrities. She makes knit bikinis.

I had a perception that fashion designers with celebrity clients have lots of money. (Especially when one of her bathing suits can sell for $700.) But Ms. Paige is apparently not good with money, LOL. I ended up watching all 4 of the episodes that were on that day and in one of them, her landlord said that she would have to start paying her rent on time.

Ashley loves designing bikinis, but she says she does it so that she can rescue more dogs. She owns a non-profit dog rescue business. That, she says, is her real passion. In another episode, they didn't have any more dog food for the numerous rescue dogs that she has living in her house. She owed her vetrenarian over $5000, so she held a bikini dog wash to raise money to pay him. She had a pet psychic there.

The show is about Ashley Paige, not necessarily about fashion. Being a Bikini Designer is what she does, but it isn't who she is, nodamene? She's just so...bohemian (for lack of a better word). I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the season and finding out if she ever learns how to manage her finances, find a BF for her mother (who lives with her) or herself, pays her rent on time, etc.

I don't know how old she is, but she is a fascinating work in progress, LOL.

Check it out on TLC Fridays at 10pm EST! :-)

Bravotv: Reality Shows

O

kay, I had been planning to do individual posts for each of the reality TV shows that I watch. But then I realized that the seasons might be over before I actually get to it, so I'm just going to tell you the ones I watch regularly by network (and remember at this particular moment).

Flipping Out is about house flipper Jeff Lewis and his employees. Lewis is seriously OCD. He also has a very dry sense of humor. His humor is so dry that you might get the impression that he has no sense of humor. But you just have to pay attention! Lewis himself has said that you either love him or you hate him, there is no middle ground.

So if you, like me, enjoy watching crazy people so that you can say to yourself "At least I'm not that bad." then you should definitely watch this show. :-)

I probably started watching Shear Genius last season because nothing else was on. I probably still watch it for the same reason.... I do not recommend this show with the same enthusiasm with which I recommend Flipping Out. Watch it if it's on and you have nothing else to do.

I LOVE My Life on the D List! I have watched every season. I watch all of her specials. I enjoy Kathy Griffin's sense of humor. She's trying to become the "White Oprah". In the last episode she "fixed up" a library at a middle school in Mexico and named it "Kathy Griffin's Leadership Academy". I don't think she's as D list as she says, but she will never be the "White Oprah". Bless her heart & THANK THE LORD. I'd have to start hating her then, on principle. ;-)

I started watching Project Runway in the 2nd season, I think. I probably started watching it because everyone else was talking about it and I wanted to be "in the loop". I watch it now because, frankly, I enjoy hating on the designs. I enjoy yelling at the judges (in my head) for picking people who are talentless in my opinion. (I don't know from fashion, and I don't care.) I love Tim Gunn. He's hilarious. By the end of the season, I've usually picked a favorite, but I don't remember if any of my favorites have ever won. I'm not invested in their futures. I don't even know why I still watch it, LOL. I know I loved the season that Santino Rice was on, even though I hated his designs.

I guess I watch to see the people cry. Because I'm evil like that. I got it from my mama.

That is all because my back is hurting!

How much does gravity weigh?

T

his is the question Evan asked me while we were watching a new (to us) show on The History Channel titled "The Universe". The first episode we saw was about Gravity.

Evan - What I want to know is, how much does gravity weigh?
Me - *surprised stare*
Evan - Well?
Me - I don't know. I guess it's different for everyone and every thing. If you weigh 100 lbs, there has to be 100 lbs of force pulling you down in the opposite direction to keep you on earth...
Evan - Oh.
Me - But I don't know. I've never really thought about it. You are so weird! WHO thinks of stuff like that? OMG. I'm sure that some of the scientists interviewed for this show have the answer. Google it, if you really want to know.

That's not the exact conversation. It's been a few days. But I do know that I was really surprised by his question. He's a budding nerd scientist...

Anyway, after that show, we watched one about The Biggest Things in Space. We learned that there is a Texas sized asteroid in space. It's round. It has it's own gravity. Ceres, is what it's called. (I just looked it up.) There's a special name for things that have their own gravity but aren't big enough to even be called a dwarf planet (planetoid ). It's defined, if I remember correctly, by being able to go from a big jagged object to a round object by pulling other space rocks to it to shape it into a sphere. Or something. I'm not a scientist. Just trying to explain this crap is giving me wrinkles.

So whatever.

We record the series now because it was very interesting. Lots of beautiful images of space and definitions of what makes a black hole and what super stars are. Did you know that there is (or are) stars bigger than the sun? I forget the specific name for them too, but they burn quite intensely & die quickly (relative to our sun). Scientists are even figuring out how to knock the earth out of the sun's orbit when it finally burns out and becomes a black hole...or something.

*cries*

Whatever!

Just watch the show! (Tuesdays @ 8pm/7C)

Don't ask me!

I finished school decades ago and I'm not taking any tests on this stuff. It's just interesting to watch, LOL.

BTW, I googled it. Gravity is weightless...

Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood

L

ast year I watched Tori & Dean: Inn Love. Or whatever that one was called.

This season Tori & Dean move back to Hollywood & are expecting baby #2.

They are so interesting to watch. Back in the 90210 days, Tori Spelling was not someone I was interested in. But with the Tori & Dean thing, I get to see her real personality. She's smarter AND crazier than I would have thought.

For example, I had no idea that she had a Kathy Griffinesque relationship with her fans (better known as "her gays"). In Season 2 (I think) she performed a gay Commitment Ceremony for a couple of the inn's guests.

On episode 3 of this season, she feared that one of the baby's fingernails will puncture one of her internal organs... She had Dean ask the doctor about it:

Dean - Hypothetically, can one of the baby's fingernails puncture through the amniotic sac and the uterus and, like, slash her liver or something? (Paraphrasing)
Dr - *deadpan* Oh, yeah. That happens all the time.
Tori - See! I knew it!
Dr - I was joking.
Tori - *in post appt interview, to camera* Even though he said it's unlikely, he didn't say that it could never happen.

...

Their son Liam is so cute! They call him "Monkey". They've already had the baby (A girl, Stella Doreen) but in the show, she's still @ 26 weeks in utero so I can't tell you if she's cute too. Liam, thankfully, takes after his father in the looks department. I won't say that Tori is ugly. I'll just say that it's unfortunate that she looks that way. Bless her heart.

I think if I met these people IRL I'd enjoy spending a little time around them. They make a cute couple even though their relationship is the result of an extramarital affair (scandalous!).

I say a little because ALL people wear me out IRL. I think Tori's personality, for me, could only be tolerated in small doses.

Like 1 hour once a week on Tuesdays at 10 pm EST on the Oxygen Network. ;-)
