Reality Show Roundup

T

his weekend, I watched 2 new Reality Shows on VH1.

The first was Confessions of a Teen Idol which is about former stars trying to recapture their fame again. The "stars" include: Chris Atkins (Blue Lagoon), David Chokachi (Baywatch), Bill Hufsey (Fame), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Eric Nies (The Real World & The Grind), Jamie Walters (90210), Adrian Zmed (Grease & TJ Hooker).

Chris Atkins needs a sandblaster on his wrinkles. He has not aged well, IMO. But this week's episode had a focus group of women and they said he looked like the new Robert Redford.

Eric Nies I remember from the first season of "Real World". He has turned into a hippie. Like wheat grass drinking, hemp clothes wearing, rarely take a shower hippie. Such a disappointment.

I never watched Baywatch, so I don't remember Jeremy Jackson at all, but I do remember David Chokachi. He still looks hott, but he's a diva. I wonder if they, the former 'teen idols' thought about how they would come off on TV? Scott Baio was funny on his show. He's one of the hosts of this. But these other jokers are just sad. I don't like any of them.

If you want to see how your former favs have aged in the past 20-30 years, check it out (Sundays @ 8pm EST). Otherwise, it's a waste of time.

The second new show I watched was Tool Academy.

Basically, it's about a bunch of asshole/loser guys and the stupid women who date them. The men were told that they were on a reality show called "Mr. Awesome" and at the end one of them would win $100,000 dollars. Then they told them that their girlfriends had sent them there to a) learn what makes them such a tool and b) try to fix it and see if their relationship could be saved.

I'm sorry, but the women on this show are the ones who need therapy. Yes, there are men who are jerks and will abuse you and use you, but you should have enough brains in your head to realize that you don't spend your child support money taking care of some douchebag. WTF?

The first guy got eliminated, I forget why, but the girlfriend still got in the car and went away with him. Facking idiot.

When the therapist shows you videos of your "man" saying that he has you trained, or that you're his 'bottom bitch', or that he's just slept with some other woman 3 days ago, you don't stay with the bastard!!!

Woosah.

The next new show, Sober House with Dr. Drew Pinsky's Gun Show, will be premiering on Thursday at 10 pm EST.

It takes some of the celebrities from "Celebrity Rehab" and shows them right after they leave rehab to go to sober living.

The celebs include Steven Adler (Guns n Roses), Seth "Shifty" Binzer (Crazy Town), Andy Dick, Mary Carey (Porn Star), Rodney King (Beat down by the LAPD), Nikki McKibbin (American Idol 1st season), Amber Smith (Supermodel) and Jennifer Gimenez (Model, Actress, Music Video Ho).

Having not seen this show yet, I can't really say anything about it. So I won't. Except I hope Dr. Drew wears those tight t-shirts some more. :-)
