The Guy I crush on when I was 13...

don't know how we got on this subject @ my favorite forum, but we were talking about boys we had crushes on in High School.

So I looked up the one I crushed on when I was 13 & living in Maryland. His name was Dominick. I was a freshman, he was a senior (I think) and I was friends with his sister Cheryl.

I remember spending the night @ Cheryl's house one night (that's the time that one of Cheryl's friends said "So it was either punch the wall or punch the nigger." and I said "Why didn't you punch the nigger?" and she was all "OMG, I didn't mean YOU, you're not a nigger." But that's a story for another time.)

ANYWAY, we were watching a movie and Dominick came and laid on the floor beside me. My little teenage heart was thumping so hard I thought it would thump right out of my chest.

I wrote him a note saying something like "I know you're a senior & I'm a freshman. I know you have a girlfriend, but I have a crush on you. I don't expect you to start going out with me, but if you would say "Hi" to me in the hallway and not act like I don't exist, that would be great."

AND HE DID!

I remember once I was walking down the street with a friend of mine and Dominick drove by in his van & honked his horn and waved.

I literally fell in the street clutching my chest like "OMG, He honked at me!"

My friend was like "Angy (back when I wanted to be called Angie, but I wanted to be different at the same time so I spelled it Angy) he's looking at you!"

Me - I don't care!

You know how certain things can happen to you and you remember them for the rest of your life and the person who did the thing to/for you probably doesn't remember?

Anyway, I found him on Facebook. I sent him this message

I always remembered Dominick because he was so nice about my crush on him. When I lived in Maryland, freshmen were the scum of the earth and I think it was the kiss of death to be seen talking to one of them. (That ALL changed when I moved to the south where the age of consent is 16, another story for another time).

But Dominick didn't have to be so nice to me. I don't know why he was then, but he has always been a good memory.

Now I feel just as giddy as I did when he drove by & honked at me.

Honestly, I wouldn't have anything to say to him, but...he's clearly still a nice guy.

o any of you watch The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson?

Well, he was in reruns for 2 weeks. When he came back on Monday, he had a mustache.

I sent him an e-mail. Which he did not read on air (I think he hates me). When he was reading the e-mails on Tuesday, he said "That one's rude." Evan thinks that was mine...

All I said was

"Dear Craig,
Thank you for growing a mustache. Now my 12 year old thinks he's a man because he has more hair on his upper lip than you do."

That wasn't rude, was it?

Anyway, last night he came back on and he'd SHAVED IT OFF!!!!

Thank you so much, Craigypoo. You really looked like a Spanish Porn Star with that 'stache.

I tried to find some pictures of him with the thing that looked like he'd drunk some chocolate milk & forgotten to wipe his lip, but there were none. There are, however, several youtube clips of him with the quasi 'stache.

Evan has finally stopped watching "Jumper" and he decided to watch "The Last Samurai". Every time I see Ken Watanabe, I think "That's a sexy man!" He's been in lots of stuff (Memoirs of a Geisha, Batman Begins, Letters from Iwo Jima). My favorite of his roles that I've seen is in Memoirs. I want The Chairman too!

Plus he's 6' tall.

Sorry Makoto (Nagano), if I had a choice between you & Ken Watanabe, you would not win.

This weekend

First, yes I saw Hugh Laurie on The Tonight Show this Friday. I thought he looked yummy & laughed like a schoolgirl because he was so funny.

Second, my air conditioner has been leaking onto my carpet. Which brings me to...

Third, I got a new landlord. I didn't even know the last one left. I think she lasted 6 months.

So I left a message for her (the old LL) on Friday. Today the new dude stopped by.

He claims that I will be getting a new air conditioning unit, a new water heater, new cabinets & some other new shit.

He said he's been pissed off looking at all the apartments & seeing how some people (like me) have been neglected.

I'm fine being neglected. As long as shit works & the landlord leaves me alone, I'm cool. I don't give a shit about new cabinets. Honestly, I don't want all those strangers in my apartment.

Whatever, all the landlords have promised me repairs that never happen. I planned on moving so I really didn't give a shit.

Anyway, after the new LL left, I changed some crap on my blog. Now I'm tired.

One of the good things about longtime friends

is that you can send an email message with just one line and you don't have to go through the "How are you? How are the kids. Blah blah" bullshit.

I made a new Hugh tag. I made one for my BFF's daughter because she has excellent taste too. I sent it with the message "whatever".

Makoto Nagano

He is so fucking hot.

He's on "Ninja Warrior" on the G4 network. He's only the second man to EVER complete all four stages (on the ones I've seen).

Ninja Warrior is all about upper body strength. If you watch the show, you'll see how much he kicks ass. On the one we saw today, he completed the first stage in 49.3 seconds. Most people take at least 60 seconds, if they finish at all.

Today, my admiration for Nagano turned to a full on crush.

Evan and I started watching Ninja Warrior last year sometime. It's exciting. And I really admire the way all the competitors seem to root for each other. Which is odd to me. If I were competing, I would root for everyone else to suck, LOL.

Since I know it gets on Evan's nerves/grosses him out, I started saying stuff

Me - There's my man!
He - Shut up
Me - He's so hotttttt.
He - He's probably shorter than you (He is. I just checked. He's 5'3".)
Me - Did you see the way he pulled himself up that rope? With just his arms? He went so fast it's like they were pulling him up!
He - SHUT UP.
Me - They should just have a Makoto Nagano show. With him climbling ropes with his shirt off.
He - GROSS!
Me - It makes me happy just looking at him.
He - So if you got your leg cut off, and then you saw him, would it make you happy?
Me - It would probably make me forget about the pain.
He - What if I died.
Me - It would probably make me forget my grief.
He - 2 minutes after I died?
Me - *Sigh* It's not likely that I'll lose my leg and my son AND see Makoto Nagano all within a few minutes, Evan.
He - I thought you liked House
Me - They're in different countries! They don't have to know about each other!
He - Neither one of them even know you exist.
Me - Shut up.

Why's he such a drag? Why can't he just let me crush on men without trying to burst my bubble?

They haven't started showing this in America yet. This is, apparently, the new second stage for 2007. WOW. I can't WAIT to see this here.

In this video, you can really see how the competitors are rooting for each other. How disappointed they are when one of their friends doesn't make it.

The guy in the orange pants is a fireman. I can't remember his name. But fisherman Makoto Nagano looks like he was patting him on the butt before the fireman's turn. It's ok. I still lust for him, LOL. (I can't wait to hear what Evan has to say after he sees this tomorrow.)

Here's what happened

I started out, YESTERDAY, to make a Jeff Goldblum/Raines tag.

I found some good pictures. I made the tag. Once again, no room to put a name. (I don't know why I have to do this every couple of months...) Let me show you the tag before I talk about it.



So I like the blend, I like the color even though it's pink again (I don't know why I have to make pink tags, either...) I like the pics of Jeff. He looks delicious. And I like the glass effect at the bottom.

Name doesn't look good anywhere on it.

So I thought "Well, I'll remember how I did that glass thing and make one of Hugh" because I have some pics of Hugh wearing glasses that I think are sooooooo cute. :-)



So I started on that.

I don't know how it happens...I get distracted or discouraged or whatever. It doesn't help that I'm a perfectionist. Or that I have 1,000,027 things going on in my head all at once.

Anyway, those pictures of Hugh with the glasses turned into this:

No glasses. No glass effect on his name. His name isn't even on there.

I had another idea about making a blended tag about all of the awards that Hugh has won (SAG, Emmy, etc.) and that didn't happen either, LOL.

I feel like I have no control!

I mean, I like the tag. I'm not happy with the name, but the rest of it is good.

But it's totally different from what I set out to do 24 hours ago.

And I'm cold.
