But will it send you to Hell???

Feeling Curious

I

watched Private Practice last night.

HellOn the show, a married couple had twin 8 year olds with leukemia (or something) so they had a baby for the cord blood to try and cure them (or put them in remission, I don't know about that disease). They only had enough cord blood to save one of them. The mother couldn't make a choice between them, so she wanted to let them both die. The dad was able to choose between the daughters. The mother said to him "You're going to Hell!"

So it got me thinking, does God send you to Hell for making a choice that He made you make?

I mean, He's the one who gave the girls leukemia. He's the one who let the parents have a baby for the sole purpose of saving the twins. So just because a parent can choose which child to save, is that reason enough to send him to Hell?

I mean, I have my issues with God as you know (if you're a regular reader of this blog), so I wouldn't put it past Him to be a stickler on this one point. He's the one who said that all sins are equal & that thinking about doing something is as bad as doing it. (Don't ask me for references. Do the research yourself. But trust me, it's in there. I don't remember if it's old or new testament, though.)

In other words, just thinking about what it would feel like to strangle my son and shake him back and forth until he comes to his senses or passes out is just as bad as when some perv molests a child. All sins are equal, remember?

If it weren't for Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, no one would get to Heaven.

Sorry, tangent.

ENTYWAY...do you think that being able to choose between your children makes you a bad person?

I don't.

I don't give a shit what people with multiple children say, how can you not like one child more than another?

I'm not talking about loving them. I understand that you can love them all equally. But what if one of your children is awesome & one is a brat? How can you not "like" the awesome child more?

All of us with siblings always feel like our parents liked/preferred one child more than the other.Which is one of the reasons I never had another child. Evan was a perfect baby. He's still a good child, no matter how much he gets on my nerves during this trying phase in his life that makes me want to smack some black onto him. But another child could not possible measure up to the perfect child I had for the first 4-5 years, LOL. And it could be ugly too. I mean, I'd still love it. But I think it would know that I favored Evan.

All of us with siblings (that I know, anyway) always feel like our parents liked/preferred one child more than the other. I think I was my father's favorite. I think MD's favorite changes with her mood, but her mood has never swayed in my direction, LOL.

Not having multiple children, I don't really know how I would feel, I can only speculate.

What do you think?

I'm not getting in a theological debate with you. I don't care if you believe in God & Heaven or Hell. It really isn't the point. Do you think you could choose between your children, and if so, does that make you a "bad" person?

Oh no she didn't!

G

od even answers prayers that I haven't expressed through praying!

I was just wishing that I had something about which to blog. I had decided that I was going to resort to the "Monday Memeage" of this blog's past. So I went to The Daily Meme and saw a few new memes that I had never tried.

The first blog that I decided to try (which shall remain nameless because I'm really not trying to start some drama) had the following graphic/javascript on the page.

The part that really caught my eye was "The vast majority of these people will go to hell."

First, I knew instantly that I didn't want a link to my blog on that page. Secondly, I already know I'm going to hell, I don't need anyone to tell me.

Maybe one of the reasons I'll be going to hell (I mean, besides the pre-marital sex that I have enjoyed immensely and can't honestly ask for forgiveness for it when I know I'll do it again at the first opportunity) is that I don't try to "Witness" to any and every person that I meet either in person or on my blog.

Your beliefs are your business. As are mine. I mean, my beliefs are my business and yours are yours. Not that yours are mine and vice versa.

HA!

Confusing enough? I've been practically narcoleptic during the day and, as a result, sleepless at night. So I'm trying to beat those damned War Wasps on Metroid Prime. Which doesn't help. Not even letting Hugh Laurie's voice lull me to sleep when I put my House DVD's in on repeat. :-(

Whatever, back to the subject.

Not yet.

That freaking song "Oh No You Didn't" has been running through my head for the past 48 hours. I have no idea why, but it won't get out of there. It's like when the Fruit of the Loom Guys had that "Blue" commercial. But at least I genuinely liked that song, LOL. The only good thing about it is that it got "When I grow up" by PCD out of my head...

NOW back to the subject...

If I can remember what it was...

Oh! I was going to say that the good thing about the internet is that you can leave the page if you see something you don't like. You aren't forced to stay and read it.

Which is what some people who land on this page need to realize. But I won't get into that, until the next time I'm feeling bitchy. :-)

Ta!

I'm in tears.

I

don't even know what to say.

I was writing a post for tomorrow, and I mentioned "Rick & Bubba". They are local DJ's that I had listened to (and watched) for a long time, but I haven't really listened to them lately unless I happened to be up at that time (7am-10am) CST. I still buy their books when I see them at Wal-Mart, though.

Anyway, I was looking for a video of them and I saw something about Bronner dying. I thought "This must be a mistake, not Rick Burgess of Rick and Bubba."

Then I found "A Father's Heart" on youtube.

It's things like this that remind me why, in spite of my dislike for Him, that I still believe in God. It reminds me that my "problems" with God are my issue, something that I have to learn to deal with.

This father, who just lost his youngest son, can still believe in and serve God with no reservations.

I would love to have that kind of faith.

Seriously.

Having experienced depression, I KNOW that the loss of hope is one of the worst feelings that anyone can experience. But I also remember when I was about 16 and I had just tried to kill myself for the 7th (and last) time, that I knelt by my bed and prayed. I asked God why I was here if I had to feel like that all the time. I asked God to let me feel His love for me. I felt the most amazing thing. I can't really describe it. I saw and felt a golden light surround me and hold me tight. Like a hug. Like you would do to your child if your child was hurting.

I knew, at that moment, that there really is a God, and he really does love me. No matter what I do. No matter what I say. I know that He is there for me when I call on Him.

I pray more often than you might think. And God answers my prayers all the time.

I am not trying to convince anyone that there is only One True God. I'm not one of those people (normally) who likes to talk about Religion or Politics except with my real life friends.

I just had to share...

MD gave me a gift!

F

or no reason at all.

I called her Thursday to ask her to take the books back to the library.

MD - Why? What's wrong with you?
Me - Nothing. I just don't want to go.
MD - HAAAAAAAAAAAAA! LMFAO! Ok, I'll be there after I eat lunch.
Me - Thanks!

Evan had had a half day (last day of school...*sob*) so she took him to her house after they dropped off the books.

I finally called and asked:

Me - Where's my boy?
MD - Boy? I don't know any boys. (She hates it when I call him "Boy")
Me - *sigh* Ok. Where is my son?
MD - Oh, he's right here eating dinner.
Me - What is he eating?
MD - WHY?
Me - Maybe I don't want him eating that at your house.
MD - Well you should have told him before he came over.
Me - You told him to eat before he came over so I didn't think you were going to cook anything!
MD - Oh. Well now you know to tell him not to eat anything at my house if you don't want him to eat.
Me - *long sigh* Well he needs to come home tonight because I need his help with something.

Anyway, when she brought him home, she also brought me a homemade hamburger cooked on the grill (Yum!) and this:

Ain't it purty? :-) It's a mother & child necklace in silver (I love silver!). I think she probably ordered it for herself but she didn't like it, so I got it, LOL. Whatever! Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!
