Are you watching The Good Guys?

Feeling Normal

B

ecause you should be. :-)

It's about a middle aged detective (Bradley Whitford) and his young partner (Colin Hanks) solving crimes.

That's not the unusual part.

The Good GuysI've seen 2 episodes and both of them started with the guys being sent to solve or take reports on some minor crime. The older detective (the dude with the porn star moustache who is more than a little sexist) always takes things way too far. This week, for example, he wanted DNA evidence on the perp who broke a vending machine.

The thing is, they end up involved in a much bigger crime than the stupid little incident report they were sent to get in the first place.

In between getting a case & solving the bigger crime, there is a lot of comedy. I have laughed out loud and rewound scenes several times.

I love the way they have flashbacks. It reminds me a little of Quentin Tarantino's style. The shot opens on 2 guys in a bathtub with some chick's legs between them, Whitford sneezes, Hanks says "No, no, no, don't" and then the screen reads "36 hours earlier" and we see how they ended up in the bathtub.

Or, we see a guy falling off a roof and then we see the message "2 minutes earlier" and we find out how the dude came to be falling off a roof.

It's funny.

Me likey.

Watch it online or on Fox Mondays 9/8 C!

TV Shows & Junk

Feeling Normal

S

o, I got my computer back last week. I don't remember the exact day. Ironically I was at the library using the computer the first time Fed-Ex tried to drop it off. So I kept my ass at home the next day, LOL. It took about 10 days total for them to get my pc, fix it & send it back to me.

So anyway, here's the report I got back:
PC Repair

I don't know WTF any of that means, all I know is that my computer doesn't flash the BSOD (blue screen of death) every 5 minutes. :-)

Anyway, I've been watching some new shows.

I had planned on posting about all of that, but my back has been killing me today. I'm wearing a Thermacare heat wrap AND I took some PMS medication (that works better for me than Tylenol or any other OTC pain med), so I don't think it's a good idea to sit here for hours posting.

I'll just name the show & let you know if I think you should watch it.

Let's Talk about Pep
(VH1)- They say it's Sex & the City for black people? I never watched SATC, so I don't know. But I think it's funny.
Men of a Certain Age (TNT)- Watch it. I love it.
Human Target (FOX)- Awesome. Watch it.
Frank the Entertainer (VH1)- I think I watched 2 episodes & realized I don't give a shit what that guy does. I mean, I only watched it because a) He sucked New York's toes & I wanted to know if he's always that freaky and 2) I really wanted to see how a dating show in some guy's parent's basement was going to work out. I just can't stand the voices of one of those bitches. And they ALL have huge noses. Those girls aren't cute. Frank isn't bad looking. But then...he fell in "love" with New York, so he clearly has no taste.
The Middle on ABCBetter off Ted (ABC)- Old show, but I still love it.
NCIS Los Angeles (CBS)- Love it. Watch it.
The Middle (ABC)- Hilarious! Definitely check it out. Modern Family & Cougar Town aren't bad either. But I only watch them because they don't compete with anything else on my DVR schedule.

That's all I can remember for now. I'm out!

Octomom

Feeling Normal

U

m, did anyone else watch that Octomom special that was on Fox last night?

I was curious. I mean, I figured she was crazy, but I thought that maybe the special would show that she wasn't...crazy.

Um, no.

It made her look crazier than having 8 children when she already had 6.

She can't control her kids. The older ones.
One of the toddlers calls everybody "Bitch" & hits EVERYONE.

I don't know whether to be sad or just worried about Nadya Suleman's 14 children...The older kids just look like they've given up.

Her house is chaos with all the noise.

Did you see the way she was picking up those babies?????????

She was laughing about a time when she put her mother in the trunk & drove around. She said something like "I could hear her body rolling around from side to side and she was screaming. It was so funny."

???????????????????????????????????

Wow.

Why does it seem that teched people are the ones doing TV specials? Supposedly to shape up their image, but it ends up making them look worse.

Remember Michael Jackson's special where he talked about sharing his bed with kids?

*shaking my head* I don't know whether to be sad or worried about Nadja Suleman's 14 kids.

I'm not the only one who feels this way

Television Show Roundup - 2/14/09

F

ollowing are reviews of some of the new shows I've watched the past few days. (Click to enlarge photos)

The Girls of Hedsor Hall

Basically they took The Bad Girls Club and moved it to England. The only difference is that there are some "unfortunate looking" women there to try to teach the idiot girls how to be ladies, pearl necklaces and former rehabber & Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner.

Don't waste your time.

T.I.'s Road to Redemption

In case you didn't know, T.I. is a rapper (very successful rapper, BTW) who was arrested last year because he's a felon and he had a whole lot of weapons on him/in his car. So he had the choice between 30 years in prison or completing 1000 hours of community service in one year & getting 366 days in prison.

He chose to do the community service, LOL.

I really didn't know anything about T.I. except he is one fine ass muthashutyomouth. In the first episode we found out why he had all those weapons. It definitely put a different spin on the story for me.

So now, in addition to his community service, he's decided to intervene in the lives of 7 at risk teens and try to stop them from going down the wrong path. He takes one "Hustler" and puts him in jail while he goes to get lunch & drive around (HA! LMFAO) and then he takes the same dude to a morgue so that he can see the other option to a life of crime (it's either jail or death, ya know).

We see T.I.'s 6 children & his baby momma. We see his mother and his friends.

It was very interesting and great to see T.I. doing something positive for young men like himself, who grew up feeling like hustling was the only way that they could help take care of their families.

This is a definite Must Watch even if it's just to see T.I.'s pretty face. It's not going to make me a fan of his music, but I will hope that he doesn't get raped in prison.... :-)

Dollhouse
Starring Eliza Dushku. It's good to see her back on a TV series. I always liked her in Buffy and I have watched Tru Calling since it's been in syndication.

Anyway, the show is about Echo (Dushku) who apparently does something bad and her only option is to serve some "agency" for 5 years after which she gets her life back with a clean slate.

The Dollhouse is an agency that fulfills people's needs or desires. The first time we see Echo, she's racing some dude on a motorcycle and she loses (on purpose?). Then they go dancing at a club and before her carriage turns into a pumpkin (I swear to God I said to Evan "I guess her carriage is about to turn into a pumpkin now" and then the Dude said the same thing, LOL.) she goes back to the dollhouse for her "treatment".

The treatment wipes out all of her memories. She's basically a living doll until some man's daughter gets kidnapped and she is given the personality of a hostage negotiator? Whatever, a Kidnap Recovery Agent. I just made that up. I don't know what they call her.

I liked the show. Apparently it got worse ratings than Terminator, but I hope it stays on for a while. It's kind of like Alias with Echo taking on different personas as needed, except she doesn't remember what she did.

If Terminator can last for a season (or is it 2 now?) then Dollhouse should be able to make it too. What other competition is there on Friday nights? Watch it!

Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory

If you used to watch Rob & Big on MTV, you'll want to watch this too. After Big Black had his baby and moved on, Rob decided to open a Fantasy Factory.

It's basically a big warehouse tricked out with skateboard ramps & rails, a big pit of foam squares to land in, and basketball hoops all over the place. It's so big that he can drive & park his T-rex around in it.

There really is no explanation or summary for this show. You just have to watch it. Rob Dyrdek is a big kid in a semi-grown man's body. He's crazy in a good/funny way and you never know what he'll do next. Love it. I just miss Big. :-(
