13 Songs I loved in the 80s

First I have to say that I'm not entirely sure these are all in the 80s, LOL. I'm listening to my 80s playlist right now. But if you're that anal about when the songs were released, you're on the wrong blog.

1. Sledgehammer - Peter Gabriel
2. Kyrie - Mr. Mister
3. Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leopard
4. Come on Eileen - Dexy's Midnight Runners
5. Let's Go All the Way - Sly Foxx
6. Jesse's Girl - Rick Springfield
7. Wishing Well - Terence Trent D'arby
8. Oh Sherry - Journey
9. I Think We're Alone Now - Tiffany (shut up)
10. Everything she wants - Wham!
11. I Like It - El Debarge
12. I'm Just a Gigolo - David Lee Roth
13. If you don't know me by now - Simply Red

It was hard to only pick 13. Maybe I should have done 113. ;-)

  1. I'm stuck in the '80s so I loved this list. I think I have all of these songs on my iTunes. What's even worse is I can picture all the videos for them too!

  2. I love those songs that you picked! I played a lot of those at my 80s 30th bday party. :)

  3. I didn't know the singers only the songs. Great list!

  4. I don't remember #11.

I was going to marry Rick Springfield.

    I like #9 too. I can't believe I just admitted that.

  5. I liked, and still like, most of these as well. I didn't care for the Sly Foxx song though.

Terence Trent D'arby thought he was something else. Every interview I saw him in, you could tell he planned to take over the world. I guess the world had other ideas. I actuall did like his music, just not him so much.

I still love Def Leppard, and they're still putting out cds and touring. They have had a lot of staying power even without chart hits.

    Cool list.

Some of my 80s favorites are:
Something About You - Level 42
Everybody Wants to Rule The World and Seeds of Love by Tears For Fears.
    Rough Boy - ZZ Top
Captain of Her Heart - Double

I could make a list of hundreds from the 80s. I don't like much music on the radio these days.

  7. I'm just going to go ahead and tell you that I don't remember much of the 80's(Hi, not my fault, only born in 83)

but I can remember dancing with my mom to Slegehammer and if you don't know me by now. Love those songs. May I remind anyone of how awesome Chaka Khan was?

    Rockin' list!

  8. This is a great list! The 80's was a bad decade for me and I usually try to block most of it out, so I couldn't assemble a list like this if I had to. But as soon as I see the names of the tunes, they start playing in my head! Thanks for dropping by my blog and have a great week.

  11. NO!! Not Stinky Red with Sick Hucknell... I've seen him around quite a bit lately, more's the pity

With most of the rest I can see where you're coming from!

  13. Love Sledgehammer and Wishing Well. If you've got 113 favorite 80's songs, that's about 8 more TT lists already done! Now I'm wondering what your lists could be like.

  14. SO... I know every single one of those (the tune actually popped in my head as I read each one) EXCEPT #11.... that didn't ring a bell, but I'm sure it would if I heard it!!! GReat list, you are a fellow 1972 girl.

RYC: I CAN eat steak, but its red meat, which is "heavy" and sits in your digestive track for days and days...so you can't have it alot and never 2 days in a row.... plus, the way I like them seasoned goes against the salt thing... aaaaa.

  15. Wow. Didn't think I would ever find another DMR fan. I love "Come on Eileen". Not sure why, just got a catchy tune and good beat.

  16. I just made my own 3-disc CD of 80s songs for a party I had. I so forgot about Sledgehammer!! I did have Jessie's Girl on there though! Great list. You can't really go wrong with 80s (in my opinion:).
