Metroid Prime

O

k, so a while back Evan was watching some "Let's Play (Insert Video Game Name Here)" videos on youtube.

He kept cracking up.

So finally I watched one with him. I ended up watching the entire series. If you want to know, it was "Let's Play Jedi Outcast by Tenike1". (Tenike cracks me up whenever he messes up. And I LOVE the way he "abuses the saves".) I'm going to buy that game from Amazon soon.

But I stopped at GameStop (GameSpot?) first to see if they had it. They didn't. So I got a different first player game, Metroid Prime. I figured Evan would like it because he's addicted to First Person crap. His favorite part of the movie "Doom" is when the dude is walking through like he's in a video game.

I never used to like First Person games because they made me kind of dizzy. But I guess Tenike kind of got me used to it.

Anyway, I put the game in and started playing dying. So I looked on youtube to see if there was a "Let's Play" series about it and there is! It is so much more convenient that reading the walk-throughs online. Other than the darkness, you can actually SEE where to go and not have to guess if the person who wrote it knows their left from their right.

Whatever.

I haven't gotten far, but I've gotten further than I would have without Lordsounga. I wish Tenike1 had done this one. I've gotten used to his delivery & he actually TALKS ABOUT THE GAME instead of random crap that's on his mind. Well, he talks about how the Lakers are doing, but then he gets back to the game.

Anyway, I plan on getting further today.

Pray for me.

Because I like being better than Evan at video games.

Because he's better at math than I am now that I've forgotten everything I had to know for the tests. He's almost as tall as me now, so video games are the last thing I have to hold over his head, LOL.

Whatever

Earlier this week, I ordered my birthday present from Mommy Dearest (Jeeves & Wooster), Lego Star Wars & Apocalypto.

Tuesday I think.

Today we got Star Wars. Nothing else. :-(

Anyway, Evan finished THE WHOLE GAME. It only took him a couple of hours.

I think this Star Wars game is harder than SW: The Original Trilogy.

There are some things I like about it. Like Yoda has a "hoverround" in this one so he's not so freaking slow. JarJar Binks & some other characters have a super high jump (which would be useful in the other game).

But I don't like anything else about it.

It's extremely hard to get TJS (True Jedi Status) because there just aren't that many studs & there's no x2,x4,x8,x10 extra, so no shortcuts to getting TJS. And all of the levels are sooooooooo loooooooooooooong.

I won't be playing that one as much as I play SW:TOT.

I can't wait for Jeeves & Wooster. WTF???? The other things I ordered were shipped before Star Wars, but I'll probably get them Monday.

Anyway, I just watched Moonlight Episode 104 online. Last week, the DVR recorded The Dog Whisperer instead of Moonlight. Which is stupid, because TDW comes on multiple times on Friday night & Moonlight only comes on once.

Whatever. I have rectified the situation.

I think I'm going to play some Star Wars now that The Boy is asleep.

He drives me crazy when we play together. He just wants to shoot crap. I want to get all the mini kits and True Jedi Status.

Which is why I end up playing when he's in bed or at school.

That is all.

I spent all day

beating Evan's records on Mario Kart. The only one I can't beat is DK mtn. I HATE DK mtn.

But I beat his other records by 8 or 10 seconds. He always takes the long way around. And he gets the lightest cart. Which is great, since he goes way off course, but it sucks for speed.

I'm really proud of myself.

It is my aim to beat him at any and every video game he ever gets. Not having to go to school is AWESOME! LOL.
