Dear Asian Reader

Feeling Normal

F

or the past week, someone has been commenting on my Harry Potter post in an Asian language.

I speak English. I read English. I do not understand other languages.
I speak English.
Please either translate your comment to English or stop commenting. It will never show up in Chinese (or whatever) on my blog.

You're welcome.

Blog Background Poll

Feeling ???

I

want to change my blog.

If you've been a reader for any length of time you know this happens from time to time REGARDLESS OF WHAT PEOPLE SAY. (Like those bloggers with tips like "Don't change the look of your blog, it turns people off.")

Don't get it twisted. I'll do WTF I want. Luff you for voting anyway! So here's a poll, just to make you feel like you have some kind of input. Which you DO NOT, LOL.

Booyah!

Feeling Happy

H

ugh is back and my blog looks great to me!

Wheeeeeeeeee.

I also figured out a few things.

I always used to just take the images from the original template and replace them with my own. Somewhere along the way, I forgot to add one of the images and it used to tick me off.

"You didn't notice, but it always bothered me."YOU didn't notice, but I'm anal about stuff like that and it always bothered me.

I finally (after years, literally) went back to the original template, replace those images, and then remembered to put in a transparent (basically) image so stuff will line up the way it's supposed to.

I'm so happy right now I can't even tell you.

Yeah...I don't know about this

Feeling Normal

I

couldn't figure out what I wanted the template for my blog to be after I almost fixed it.

I decided to just change the dots to the colors I wanted.

I don't know if I like it.Now that it's all done, I don't know if I like it.

*sigh*

That's all for now.

Is anybody a CSS whiz?

Feeling Normal

B

ecause this is what I see when I look at my blog:

Angelika's Blog Screenshot

Not cool.

I keep messing with the HTML, but it never looks right. It looked right on my old monitor (1024x768 resolution) but with this 1600x900 it's just all stretched out.

Any tips?

Do you Digg my blog?

DiggImage via WikipediaEntecard is encouraging all of us ECers to Digg each other's posts. If we actually like them.

I'm cool with that.

If I can figure out how to get the Digg Button to show up...

**Update** 7:55pm YAY! I did it. Thanks to Even Angels Fall. I just copied the code from her blog & changed the URL to my blog. Digg & Entrecard people were no help. At least not as fast as I wanted help, LOL. When I ask for help, I want it NOW! ;-)

And just in case you were wondering, NO, I was not sitting here for hours trying to make it work. I just dropped on my favorite EC blogs and saw a Digg button. So it took about 5 minutes after I saw the actual code, TYVM!

Do you pay attention to your readers???

I

'm just curious. Because whenever someone tells me something about my blog (loading slow, comments being cut off) I look into it and fix it if necessary.

Whenever I run across a blog that is interesting to me, but I feel like there's an "issue" and I can offer a helpful suggestion, I leave them a comment or a message on Entrecard.

Some of these blogs have been on "Daily Visit" list for a long time, so when I tell them "Your sidebar is not showing up correctly", they take the time to reply and thank me for letting them know that their blog had an "issue".

Some of the blogs I see are ones I've never seen before, or on which I've never commented, so they may see my helpful suggestion as "Who the eff does this beeyatch think she is?"

I don't normally correct people's spelling or grammar. It's just something like "If you would change your template in this way, your sidebar would actually be a sidebar instead of a bunch of stuff that shows up after all of your posts." Only nicer, LOL.

It just irritates me that they have nothing to say.

Even when I think the person messaging me is full of doodoo (for some reason, Stewie from Family Guy comes to mind when I say that word & it cracks me up!), I thank them for letting me know! Common courtesy. I take the time to let you know something which may be an issue for ALL of your readers (not just me) and I think YOU should take the time to at least say "Thanks! I was not aware of that."

Ungrateful bastids.
