After smoking a pack and a half a day for more years than I care to admit, I bought an e-cig in May of '09. I havent' had a cigarette since; and I've really only been tempted twice. Okay, three times, if you count that time I passed a woman in a parking lot that just lit up. I swear, it smelled so good I wanted to knock her to the ground and smoke it myself. Yeah, that one took a lot of self control. :D
