I
got an Economic Stimulus Refund last year. I don't normally bother with filing taxes because my Disability Income is not taxable.I decided to check to see if I could get another rebate this year because I thought I'd heard that President Bush's ES Refunds carried over to 2009 or something.
I'm getting a rebate this year!
I just went to TurboTax had my forms filled out for free!
I don't know if it would have E-filed for free, but I printed it out.
So if you got an Economic Stimulus Refund/Rebate in 2008, be sure to fill out your 1040 to see if you can get another one.
Congrats! Every little bit helps doesn't it?
ReplyDeletePS- That photo in the background is disturbing. lol
Shae - What is disturbing? Hugh or the heart? Don't say "Hugh"!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the stimulus. It would be cool if you used the stimulus money to buy a stimulator of some kind. Sort of get the last laugh on Bush, so to speak.
ReplyDeleteOr not. He probably doesn't care anyway. But congrats all the same.
Max - I think I'll use my stimulus to get my car fixed. I'm tired of carrying a screwdriver around to unhook my alternator & battery.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about that. Tell me again what it does? Doesn't shut off?
ReplyDeleteMax - Right. I can take the key out while it's running so I have to unhook the battery & the alternator, then plug the alternator back in so the battery won't die every time I park the car.
ReplyDeleteBut it renews my faith in humanity every time a stranger stops and says "Do you need some help?" :-)
Try it with this! You can efile for free! http://turbotax.intuit.com/taxfreedom/ And congrats!
ReplyDeleteYou need to replace your ignition switch (the thing the key goes in.). You can do this yourself if you can reach under the dash and unplug the wire socket from the back of the switch, then take it out and go buy a new one and plug the wires back in. Make sure the negative wire on the battery is unhooked while you do this unless you enjoy electricity. Then you can buy something else with your rebate.
ReplyDeleteBut if your key goes in the steering column (I don't know what kind of car you have) then you are pretty much just screwed because you will have to have the entire wheel-lock ignition combo replaced. And that means pulling your steering wheel and taking a lot of your steering column apart. So there goes your rebate for labor.
Just for giggles (if your key is in the steering column), the next time you are getting ready to turn off your car, turn the key to off, and then bang on the steering wheel or pound your fist above the key thingy and see if the pin will drop and the car will turn off. But you will still have to get it fixed.
Good luck. And I mean that.
I forgot to sign back into my Relax Max persona. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteRene - I tried to e-file yesterday, but since I didn't know the 2 #s needed, I couldn't do it. The IRS phone # that they gave had too high a call volume to give me the info, so I mailed it today.
ReplyDeleteMax - I can't get up under the dash!
No worries, I just have to buy the part and some dude who lives in a trailor will fix it for me. He's good AND cheap.
