So tired

Feeling Tired

I

am so tired, y'all.

This is how I usually feel in the summer. But it's finally cooled down to 70s in the day, so I should feel more energized and able to do more crap.

But no.

I'm awake all the effing time but I don't feel like getting out of the bed or doing anything.

I went out yesterday because I had to get my stitches removed & I was going to stop by Wal-Mart & get some food.

Instead, I went to my mom's house and vomited in her garbage can for 30 minutes and then I picked up Evan and went to get my stitches removed.

It HURT.

Whatever.

I have Steri-Strips on my foot now.

No pictures.

I didn't even feel like posting this.

*sigh*

I'm going back to bed.

Health & High Fives 9/23/10

Feeling Normal

So, I was supposed to get my stitches taken out on Wednesday. But I hadn't slept since Tuesday 9 am, so I decided not to go because one more day couldn't really hurt, right? So, I take a sleeping pill & I'm waiting to fall asleep.

Evan gets home and says he fell & hurt his wrist and he thought we needed to go to the ER.

Yay.

I call Mommy Dearest & told her that I hadn't slept but I had taken a sleeping pill so I really didn't want to drive 30 miles to the ER and risk falling asleep.

Blah blah.

Evan twisted his wrist but didn't fracture or break anything. While we were there, my PCP happened to be on duty so I had him look @ my stitches & he said they looked a little infected so he gave me a prescription for antibiotics and told me to come to his office on Saturday and he'd take them out. (I will not go to his office, because having the stitches taken out @ the ER is free since it's a continuation of getting the stitches. If I go see my PCP, I will have a $60 copay. No thank you. Medicare sucks.)

Krystal HamburgersAnyway, we were hungry when we left the ER, and I had gotten a headache so I took some headache medicine (with caffeine) and drank iced tea (caffeine) with my Krystals and...I was so buzzed my skin was literally vibrating.

No sleep that night either.

I finally fell asleep about 4 am on Thursday, so...45 hours with no sleep? Something like that. I slept until 8:30 am when my flipping cousin came over to borrow my jumper cables.

*sigh*

So, I went to go get my prescription. It said on the info not to eat for at least 1 hour after taking the medicine and not to lay down (?) for 30 minutes after taking it.

I sat up for 30 minutes and watched a few sitcoms that were on my DVR and then passed out, LOL. Slept pretty much all day yesterday. I had set my alarm for 9 am this morning to remind me to take another antibiotic.

I got nauseous, so sitting up for 30 minutes was no problem.

Then I pretty much passed out again.

Jensen AcklesI was trying to watch the Season 5 Supernatural Marathon on TNT, because season 6 premiers tonight and it would be nice to be caught up, but I kept falling asleep!

Finally decided to GET UP and post the few High Fives I saw this week while going through my 40+ hours of insomnia. Here they are in no particular order.

Oh wow, they're all from the same site, LOL.

Unintentional Racist Products - Product #1 brings back memories from Jr. High when the black kids used to call me Oreo. Black on the outside, white on the inside. Just because I don't speak Ebonics doesn't mean I'm not black! I'm not bitter about it at all... Anyway, make sure you read the comments because there were a few reader added products as well.

Man arrested for fighting with his parrot.

Steven Segal's Reggae Record. Not even a joke, man. WTF?

That is all for now. I really need to watch this marathon before tonight's new episode.

BTW, I think Jensen Ackles is my new crush. He's younger than me, so does that make me a cougar now?

Dear God - 9/22/10

Feeling Normal

T

here are a few things bothering me lately, and I need your help to fix them or at least not get so 'het up' about them.

First, the teenage sluts showing my son their thong.

Black Girl PrayingPlease hit them with a bolt of lightning or give them an epiphany that lets them realize, at this young and stupid age, that showing a boy your thong will excite their hormones, but they'll think of you as a whore forever after. Has anyone forgotten Monica Lewinsky? She'll always be the chick who showed her thong to THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, no matter what else she does in life.

Second, the parents who are buying thongs for their 15 year old daughters.

????? Seriously? Why does a 15 year old need a thong? What the everloving fuck are these parents thinking???? Isn't it bad enough that all EVERYTHING turns teenage boys on? Do we need to have the girls showing their thongs to the boys IN SCHOOL on top of it?

3rd, the idiotic mother who left her 2 toddlers in the car in 98º degree weather while she went into the store.

It doesn't take long for the car to heat up or for someone to snatch your kids if you leave them unattended while you go buy some fucking milk or whatever the hell is so important that you can't take the time to put your kids into a cart and take them with you.

Aren't you supposed to know everything? Can't you make the parents who are going to do this kind of shit sterile so that they can't have kids to neglect and abuse???

4th, and maybe most importantly, can you make me not want to slap the shit out of every idiot I seem to meet every time I leave the house?

Thank you for your consideration.

TV Shows - 9/21/10

Feeling Normal

I

admit that I've only seen the first episode of Hawaii 5-0 (Mondays, 10/9c on CBS), but I LOVED THE EFFING POOP OUT OF IT!

I don't remember the old Hawaii 5-0, so I can't compare it. But this show is funny, there's a lot of action. It's exactly my type of show.

I have also watched each show that CBS has give Alex O'Laughlin. Is it just me, or does he have different teeth this time? Whatever, he's nice to look at. ☺

I also watch Mel B: It's a Scary World (Sundays, 9/8c on Style).

I ♥ ♥ ♥ Mel & her family. Her husband Stephen Belafonte (Mel pronounces it Steph-AN) is a "typical dude". He's silly, funny & a bit lazy.

The couple goes to a marriage counselor every week. Not because they're having problems, but to prevent problems (good idea, IMO). They have 2 kids. Mel's daughter Phoenix (11, from a previous relationship) and Angel (3, Eddie Murphy's daughter). Stephen also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

I can't think of a couple to compare them to, all I can tell you is that I liked them instantly. The only thing I don't like is the daughters' hairstyles. Mel explained that Angel got gum in her hair, all the way to the roots, so she had to shave it and it looked weird with only one side shaved. What's the excuse for Phoenix?

Anyhoo, here's a clip.

I also watched Chase (NBC) I think it will have to grow on me, Lone Star (Fox after House), idunoh about this one. Con man bigamist with a heart? *sigh*. I wasn't that excited by either of those shows, but for now they don't conflict with anything else...

In other news, I get my stitches out tomorrow. I hope my foot feels better. I'm tired of forgetting and crossing my legs at the ankles & hitting the stitches!

High Five Friday & Complaining.

Feeling In Pain

W

ell, I was awakened in the middle of the night with a sinus headache which is currently throbbing on the left side of my forehead. Joy.

My left leg is also hurting. Not just my foot, my ENTIRE LEG. I admit that I have not been taking the darvocet every 4 hours as prescribed, I also know you're not supposed to chase pain. But, believe it or not, I really don't like taking narcotics unless I have to.

I guess I have to.

But I did manage to visit some blogs this week, so here are some High Fives in no particular order. :-)

High Five DogAmy Oops : Google Pun WIN
Matt Price : Top 25 Black Superheroes. I asked him about this earlier this week because one of my cousins is a comic book freak and if anyone knows comic books, it's Matt. :-)
Captain Bummer : Bonesters NSFW
Cardiogirl : It should be illegal...
Uleven : Japanese Beat Boxer AWESOME!

Nostalgia

Feeling Abnormal

T

he other day Evan & I went to Wal-mart to get the dog food for Tiki.

As we were walking in, I realized that he's getting really tall. (5'9" at the last check).

*sigh*

Evab MorphSometimes it feels like it was just yesterday when he was that 4 year old holding my hand and looking both ways.

Now he's a 14 year old who won't let me touch him in public.

Of course in the summer when he's home all the effing time and driving me crazy it feels like it will never end. :-)

I'm proud of the son I have, I'm just nostalgic for the little Hunny Bunny I used to have too.

My mother tried to cut my foot off!!!!!!!!

Feeling Normal

S

o Evan and I had gone to Mommy Dearest's house today to drop off the dog food that we got for Tiki. She asked me to take the fingernail polish off of her toes because when she bends over she gets muscle spasms.

So I sat on the floor and did it. Left my foot under her recliner.

All of a sudden, she tried to close the recliner. I couldn't even yell or anything because I was so shocked.

When I pulled my foot out from under the recliner, it looked like the recliner had just scratched the fuck out of my foot.

But I looked closer AND SAW "THE WHITE MEAT" (AKA fatty tissue).

I practically started hyperventilating. It didn't really hurt, I just have never hurt myself that bad. Never had stitches before today.

Evan looked at it and said "That's disgusting, I'm not looking at it again!" and MD, of course, was like "I don't want to see it!"

So she had to go change out of her house dress and put on some clothes to drive me to the ER.

I'm so proud of Evan, though. In the past when there was an emergency, he got frazzled and just looked at me like "WTF am I supposed to do?"

Today he was like "It will be ok. Don't even think about it. Try to breathe. Look at me. It will be all right."

Very calm. Very grown up. Seriously. I saw a new side of my baby today and it looks like he did get the "calm in an emergency" gene from me after all. ☺

So he got me some paper towels and a wal-mart bag. He put the towels over my cut so I didn't have to see it and we tied up my foot in the bag so the blood wouldn't drip everywhere.

I was wondering how I was going to get out to the car because I didn't know if walking on my foot would make the cut worse or what.

My son said "I'll carry you."

!!!!!!

Me - No you won't. (I mean, he's strong, but I can't imagine him fucking carrying me and I could see in my mind him falling over in the yard and both of us go spilling on the grass with Tiki running around licking our faces, LOL.

Quad CaneAnyway, my mother has a quad-cane from something, I don't remember, but I hobbled out to the car with it.

So in the car I was talking a mile a minute or singing just to keep my mind off of my foot because I thought it would hurt worse if I thought about it.

Normally when I sing in the car, MD makes fun of me or tells me to shut up. Today, because she felt so guilty, -

MD - I can't even tell you to shut the fuck up.
Me - LMFAO!

By the time we got to the ER, there had to be at least 3 TBLS of blood collected in the bottom of the bag. I really didn't want to look because I didn't want to freak out again.

The gist is I got the first stitches in my life today because my mother tried to cut off my foot (or break my foot) by closing the recliner on it.

I have 5 stitches. There is a picture coming up. Don't look if you're squeamish. I'd have taken one before I got the stitches but that one glance was enough for me.

LOOK AWAY NOW. TTYL.

Angelika's Stitches

If you're still here, I'm fiddnuh take one of the Darvocet that the very talkative doctor gave me and pass out. Sleep tonight!!!!!! Wheeeeeeeee.

Ciao!

Did you know - Aluminum Foil

Feeling Informative

I

n 1903, Richard S. Reynolds went to work for his uncle (tobacco king R.R. Reynolds) where they used thin sheets of tin-lead to wrap cigarettes & loose tobacco to protect them from moisture.

Reynolds WrapIn 1919, after mastering the technique with foil, R.S. Reynolds opened his own business, the U.S. Foil Co. in Louisville, KY.

Candy makers found that the tin wraps gave a tighter seal to the hard candy than wax paper, so they started buying the wraps too.

When the price of aluminum began to drop in the late '20s, R.S. Reynolds adapted the tin-lead wrap to use aluminum. At the time, aluminum was a fairly new metal and hadn't really been used.

Reynolds believed that the lightweight and noncorrosive metal was the wave of the future and expanded is business to be the first to offer home owners such things as: aluminum siding, windows, boats, pots & pans and kitchen utensils.

His most popular product, however, was the 1947 development of 0.0007 inch thick aluminum foil. It conducted heat rapidly, was lightweight, non-rusting, nontoxic, paper thin and sealed in moisture. When refrigerating foods it turned out to be odor-proof and light-proof.

Few products for the home were more rapidly and positively welcomed than aluminum foil.

I didn't really think she'd do it...

Feeling Surprised

I

couldn't really sleep last night. I think 2010 is another year for the really bad insomnia. :-(

Anyway, I decided to go out this morning to run some errands instead of waiting for Evan to get home from school when it will be hot outside.

Electric Shopping CartI got to Wal-Mart @ about 9:45. They didn't have any electric carts. I decided to sit on the bench just inside the door for a while to see if someone brought one back.

While I was there, some older man asked if he could sit beside me. Of course I said "Yes".

Dude proceeded to tell me that he's on vacation with his wife from South Georgia and they were only supposed to stay here for 3 days on their way back from Maryland where he preached at some church but they've been here for a week now and they are going back home this Thursday! Yada yada on and on.

So I see someone I know and jokingly, I said "Go back in and get Evan some boots so I don't have to walk all the way back there."
She - What size?
Me - 12½
She - Black or brown?
Me - Black

So she goes back in the store to shop for the shoes!!!!!!!!

I turned to the dude and said "I didn't really think she'd do it!"
He - Well you must know her.
Me - Yeah.

So he told me that he has a - one of those things you drive on vacation. Like a Winnebago? I don't remember what it's called.

He told me other stuff too, but I wasn't really listening, I was looking for the girl who went back to get the shoes.

Herman Work BootsShe came back with a black and brown pair size 12 (they didn't have 12½) but said she'd go back for 13 if I wanted her to.

Me - No. If he doesn't like these, I'll bring Evan back and HE can walk all the way back there. I really appreciate this. Thank you so much!

...

Can you buleedat?

The only reason I can think why she did it is because her mother is BFFs with my SIL and her younger sister was BFFs with my niece when they were in elementary school.

The only person I go back into Wal-Mart for is my mother, and that's only because I have the electric cart and I don't actually have to walk all over creation to get whatever it is, LOL.

Wow.

People can be so nice sometimes. ☺

Guess what I did today!

Feeling Tired

I

got a flu shot!

LMAO! I wouldn't have brought it up except my arm is killing me. And I haven't had more than 4 hours of sleep since 10 am on Thursday.

In spite of sleeping pills.

And xanax.

And muscle relaxers.

*sigh*

I saw my great niece for the second time in her life!

The first time she was about 2 mos old and a bit sleepy/cranky.

Aniyah & Evan

Now she's 6 mos old and she was wide awake.

I knew they were coming (My SIL, 2 nieces & great niece). I had planned on putting on makeup so I would look decent in the pics.

But like I said, no sleep. I just did a little retouching on Paint Shop Pro. ☺

Just when I was about to fall asleep for an hour or two, Mommy Dearest came over to eat her freaking Wendy's salad and talk to me about Big Brother & other crap.

So I was wide awake.

OMG.

How can I be so tired and not get to sleep?????????

I finally got to see the season finale of Supernatural. I had watched the first season, but it conflicted with other things so I dropped it from my DVR schedule.

When they started showing it on TNT I was able to catch up with all of the seasons 1-4 and I watched the latest one (Season 5) in repeats.

Anyway, the way the show was shot, it really looked like a series finale. I laughed, I cried (not really, but I did feel sad). So I had to get online and find out if the show was canceled.

It wasn't.

Yay!

I'll be waiting with bated breath for the season premier to see how the hell Sam gets Lucifer out of his body. (Makes no sense if you don't watch the show, but I'm just tired enough not to care. ☺)

OMG, that's all.

I'm going to bed.

I'll watch some free movies until I pass out or the sun comes up.

Ta!
